Charm & character, memories waiting to be made in our beautiful rustic farmhouse/cottage(as many have called it) Located on a working farm, you can come hike the mountain or hug a baby calf! Every season has its charm from summer gardens, fall foliage, winter snowshoe & cross country skiing possibilities or spring planting! We offer raw, A2A2, grass fed milk & meats to purchase making your stay a complete Farm to Table Memory Making Experience! This is not fancy but clean and comfortable and a true trip down memory lane like visiting GRANDPA & GRANDMA back in the day. We would love to have you visit our beautiful area!

Country home away from home

Right in the middle of a working farm, this quiet retreat is a wonderful stay. This location could be a country song right down to the dirt road. We thoroughly enjoyed this get-away for our family hun ting trip.

Great place to unplug

I needed to get out of the city and unplug and spend time with some family. This was a great place . Very peaceful and quite. Very cute farm house and very clean and the owners are just a quick text away to help with any questions. I will be going back

Amazing!

Jim and Kim were very nice and accommodating. I was 1 day late to check in and they were very understanding. The property is really a working farm. You honestly have to stay with family and friends to get the full benefit. Thank you for your hospitality Jim and Kim!

it was very nice i would of liked an outdoor table on the porch for coffee in the morning owners were very nice and hard workers

Quick stay

Everything was clean and the owners were fantastic!! They made themselves available anytime we needed them and were very helpful with directions as the property is very difficult to find at night. The 1 air conditioner did not work and it was very hot in the house and most of the windows had old or no screens so we couldn’t open them. Also it was very strange that the 3 bedrooms upstairs had no doors on them which caused some privacy issues. We also found it odd that we couldn’t lock the door if we left the house bc there were no keys.Overall, The house was very quaint and we enjoyed seeing the donkeys and cow!

Thank you so much for your input. We are definitely a work in progress here. We are in the process of making all those changes you made mention of that were concerns. We enjoyed having you and your beautiful family with us and we would welcome you back to experience our upgrades in the future.😊 We certainly could have addressed them while you were here had you mentioned them to us. We didn’t know the one air conditioner didn’t work, it probably was a breaker issue that could have easily been fixed. As for the doors on the upstairs rooms, we are replacing them and will not have that issue moving forward. The windows are old, it is 100+ year old house and that’s why we make clear it is rustic. Replacing windows is an upgrade for the future. We haven’t replaced the lock on the doors yet mainly because we don’t usually lock our doors here in our rural country friendly area.😊(our glamping tent isn’t “locked” either. We understand all your concerns and want to thank you again for your suggestions. May we say for future reference please, if you have any questions or concerns please bring them to us to address and fix, if you have amazing experiences please share them here. Thank you for your understanding.

Barbour Hill Farmhouse is the perfect place to come and make memories any time of year. From the Spring planting, Summer gardens, Fall foliage & harvest to Winter snowshoe adventures waiting to be made. You can milk a cow, hug a baby calf or simply enjoy s’mores around the fire pit.

Each season offers unique benefits. Spring will offer opportunity to see the new born babies and fields beginning to grow.. Summer will offer opportunities to hike our mountain, or visit Salt Springs state park. Fall you’ll enjoy the amazing fall foliage or maybe a walk by our creek. Winter offers the quiet cozy time around the fireplace in the living room after snowshoeing or cross country skiing around our fields petting our donkeys or feeding treats to our cows. You may even want to visit Elk Mountain to ski the slopes.
