Step back in time to a rural waypoint with all of the modern amenities. This home was meticulously restored to serve as a bed and breakfast and is now available to you in its entirety for your personal enjoyment.


Conveniently located near one of the best ski resorts in Pennsylvania, Elk Mountain, this home will warm you up after a day on the slopes or ensure a cozy retreat for those who want to stay warm.

You will love the hand-painted details in each of the bathrooms and each bedroom has an en suite bathroom except for the loft which could exclusively use the hall bath.

The two gas fireplaces will warm you up quickly whether you want to sit by the stove in the kitchen or read a book on a comfortable leather sofa in the living room/library. Feel free to take a book/leave a book if you don't finish your novel by the end of your stay.

The D and H rail trail is a great place for running, walking, or biking in warmer weather and it is about a 15 minute drive.

Cameras at the doors monitor access. No pets. No smoking. Restricted areas include the basement, attic and garage/barn. This is camera-monitored.

Elk Mountain Ski Trip

Family Ski Vacation

This is a great place to stay, the house is very big and had room for all 7 adults. Elk mountain is close for skiing which we did everyday. We would come back.

We had a great stay! The house was the perfect size for our family trip. We had a problem with the door lock but Brenda was very quick to assist us! She was very quick to respond to our messages. We enjoyed our stay at Smiley Hollow!

A perfect historic home for family memories to be made

Smiley Hollow is an absolutely adorable home we will be staying in again. As a one-time B&B, its layout makes it perfect for families with kids (young or adult) and attention is paid to every comfort. It was impeccably clean, the living rooms cozy, and the bathrooms aplenty. Brenda was an amazing host and was quick to respond through the entire rental process. I cannot recommend this home enough, but I also want to keep this gem a secret so we can book it whenever we want. The house is stocked with all the comforts of home (linens, extra blankets, plenty of books, cards and games for kids, basic kitchen items, wifi, keurig, and washer/dryer). It’s a 10-15 minute drive to Elk Mountain and a little further to get to a market or restaurant. It is a perfect holiday homestead for families, especially for those who enjoy making home-cooked meals and spending quality time by the fire.
