About this property
Private 5-Acre Cabin Retreat – Woods, Wildlife, Trails & Starry Skies
Elk Horn Cabin is a stunning 2600 ft² log cabin nestled on 5 acres of secluded, tranquil grounds with sweeping views of the San Francisco Peaks; Surrounded by thousands of tall, whispering Ponderosa Pines. Meandering paths lead to children's play areas, sledding hills and wandering adventures!
* Private access to the Flagstaff Urban Trail System
* 10 min to downtown Flagstaff
* Finished basement w/ Air Hockey, Ping Pong & Shuffleboard and more
TPT #21478743
Guest access
The entire cabin and its 5 acres of land are yours to enjoy!
Other things to note
* The cabin is extremely close to downtown - but is tucked away at the very end of a 2 mile unpaved road. The last 300 yards of road that leads to the driveway is a hill that CAN REQUIRE 4WD OR SNOW CHAINED TIRES between the months of November - March. If you rent between November and March and arrive in a Toyota Prius - you will still be responsible for finding a way to vacate the property at the end of your stay if it snows!!
* The cabin is a hand-built, 30-year-old log retreat nestled deep in the woods. While it has been completely modernized and is regularly treated for pests, the surrounding nature sometimes finds its way indoors.
* Water at the cabin is supplied by a private cistern fed by a state of the art potable rain-water catchment system that converts all the water at the cabin to purified, drinkable water. The capacity of the tank is ample, but can and will run out of water with long-term excessive water use. Short showers are especially appreciated - as we have a super high-efficiency tankless water heater that delivers hot water within 30 seconds of demand.
* There are two security cameras outside. At the front door and on the side of the house pointing at the driveway. These cameras are used solely to protect our guests and our home.
* Our property backs up to State Land and the Flagstaff Urban Trail System. A short hike down our property and you can access the trail system and explore it all the way to downtown.
* Elk Horn Cabin is an heirloom family home that is deeply loved and cared for. It is not owned or managed by a big company making huge rental profits. Please care for the home as you would your own so that our children - and their children - can continue to enjoy it for generations to come.

About the host
Hosted by Bridget
My name is Bridget, my husband Aaron and our family live in Cave Creek, AZ. Over the years we fell in love with Flagstaff through stays in other beautiful rental properties. We also looooove to travel in general, and have had wonderful accommodations all over the world.
Why they chose this property
The cabin is just two hours from our home in the Valley, and offers a wonderful escape for our family. During the winter we can go from 60 degrees to enjoying the snow in no time, sipping hot cocoa and watching families of Elk pass through our front yard. During the summer it's an easy drive to cooler temperatures.
What makes this property unique
There are not many log cabins on 5 acres in Flagstaff city limits. The acreage itself is just magical - with nothing but pine trees and mountains as far as you can see. We completely modernized and remodeled the Cabin to offer an experience for our guests that incorporates only the very best of what we've enjoyed in our travels - with our own special touches like top of the line mattresses, linens, and finishes throughout the home.
