Out of the Guest Book: What a wonderful week we had! We enjoyed your beautiful house, beautiful country and very kind & helpful people. What a magical place! We will miss the birds, bunnies and other wild life around your lovely home, but we take home many new memories. 21. – 28. July 2007, the McMurry Family, Los Alamos USA ***** How lucky we feel to have chanced upon your lovely home on the internet and to have managed to book it for the week of the wedding of our nephew. It’s in such a beautiful location and we were lucky with the weather. That all in all made our stay really wonderful. 14. – 21. July 2007, Kathy Booth., London, UK ***** Tranquil, peaceful and above all the calming scenery: Enough to recharge the batteries and more. The weather was very wet while we were here, but your house and the magnificent view gave us rest and made up for it, ten times over. Will definitely be back hail, rain or snow, but hopefully sun shine. 30. June – 7. July 207, the Jonston Family, Downpatrick Ireland
Galway: Galway City is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Ireland. Visitors and students contribute a lot to the life of the City and are welcomed by the Galwegians for doing so. Galway and its surroundings are famous for many festivals from the Film festival (end June), 'Galway Arts Festival' (mid-July), 'Galway Races' (end July) culminating in the famous 'Galway and Clarinbridge Oster Festival' (in September). A free newspaper which contains details of what's happening in the City 'The Galway Advertiser' is published every Thursday and it is worth checking the internet or picking up a copy (available in any newsagent's, if you are quick).
Tourist attractions: The house is ideally situated for trips to the wonderful scenic area of Connemara and Co. Clare. Connemara is a superb fishing and golfing area. Oughterard Golf Club (18 hole Parkland) is only ten minutes away. You may also go on beautiful walks (Connemara Way) and there is wildlife for the keen photographer. Visit Co. Clare e.g. the Cliffs of Moher and the Burren with its spectacular views and the Aran Islands by boat from Rossavael (45 minutes drive from the house).

This home was delightful, and while secluded still felt very safe—we were four females traveling from the US. Each of us had our own space which we enjoyed. The kitchen was “over” equipped for anything you wanted to do. None of us are big cooks so that was kind of wasted on us—too bad. Michael was quick to respond to issues. Our only negative was the lack of a working TV.

Hi Barbara,
Thank you for the good review. I ordered a sound bar for the TV 3 weeks ago, bur the parcel got lost, so I had to order it again. It was in the long parcel you found 5 days ago on the doorstep.
Sorry about that.
Michael
If you look for a quiet and beautiful place with a breathtaking view, this is the place to be. Very nice house full equipped for cooking. The perfect location for visiting Connemara or just fishing and angling.

Beautiful! Beautiful! Beautiful!
We loved it! We had plenty of room with 6 people and lovely views of the lake. It was an adventure getting to the house, but once we arrived we loved it! It was very cozy and we felt like we were at home. I would highly recommend it to friends and would stay there again.
This property was perfect for me and my extended family. Both granddaughters were over the moon at having a room with a balcony overlooking the lake. All four adults found the bedrooms, community areas and kitchen to be a great value with enough space for everyone to find seclusion when needed, and ample room for group meals and other activities. We loved the area and quickly found our way throughout the region and many of the area attractions. This house is a pure gem and we will remember our stay for decades to come.

Beautiful and Quiet Yet Easy Access to Galway and Connemara
Our family of four had a vacation booked in the area exactly two years ago at another property, and then COVID intervened in our plans. Fortunately, when travel opened up this property was available. As other reviews indicate, a great location and views, easy check-in and check-out, comfortable, and more than enough room to stretch out. We didn't have trouble finding the house, and the only negative was wondering if we had figured out the Irish recycling requirements!

Thank you John,
I am glad you liked your stay. It was a pleasure to accomodate you and your family. Recycling in Ireland is a bit complicated. Nothing to worry about.

The ideal base for our Connemara adventure. We had a great time exploring the region. Last there as a child I had no recollection of the stunning scenery either along the coast or amongst the mountain passes. We had some lovely days and I even managed a swim in sea near Roundstone. This home on the shores of Lough Corrib was the ideal base, spacious, well equipped and comfortable. Nearby Oughterard is an attractive little town having all we needed in terms of provisions. Galway has grown enormously since I was a child and is to be avoided as the traffic is a nightmare. There are quite a few attractions in Galway City so definitely worth visiting avoid peak times and prepared for delays.
Absolutely stunning location. Was great sitting in sun room every night looking out at loch corrib. Plenty of space for our group of 8 and 2 dogs. Could do with a bit of an update inside. Outside maintenance needing done. Windows very dirty. Road into property very overgrown and hard to find. No welcome pack. Dogs loved running about large garden. Overall positive experience but could have been better given price

Schöne Lage am See

Omschrijving
Mooie ruime woning; interieur iets gedateerd; te weinig activiteiten in onmiddellijke omgeving; gebruik wagen is noodzakelijk. Rustig gelegen, mooi uitzicht.
Traumhafte Lage, großes, sehr gut ausgestattetes Haus
Wir konnten uns prima entspannen. Das Haus ist großzügig gestaltet und mit vielen schönen Ecken gut durchdacht. Die Ausstattung ist exzellent, es hat wirklich an gar nichts gefehlt. Die direkte See lage garantiert Erholung.

Not what we expected
The view is fabulous. The bathroom tiles are really nice.
The sheets are left on the beds for you to make. The water was not even warm for evening showers, where as morning was better. No hot water for dishes. All sheets need to be replaced. Bees in upstairs room, broken light in master bath, very complex house systems to figure out. Home has well water. Location is somewhat remote but beautiful.
We had a brilliant time in a really comfortable lakeside house which had everything we needed.
The location is great if you enjoy kayaking or paddle boards, but is only 30 mins from Galway and well place for Connemara, and the Aran islands all of which we enjoyed.
We couldn't book great Irish weather every day but it didn't matter and we wish we could have stayed for longer.
on the shores of the lake surrounded by beautiful countryside and views over the lake. We swam and paddle boarded on the lake, and managed to get over to the other side from Knockferry. Plenty of room in the house for teenagers, although it was slightly restricted to walk anywhere. We found it very relaxing
Spacious, comfortable house in an outstanding location on Lough Corrib
Beautiful , well equipped house in a perfect location for visiting Connemara, Galway etc. Lots of information on things to do and detailed explanations of how to use all the equipment in the house. A perfect place to get away from it all. And, of course, if you like fishing, the house is on the shore of one of Ireland's most famous trout lakes.
I enjoyed my week down at Carrowmoreknock. I live in Dublin and have family in another part of Galway and was great to get to see them. I have two young dogs and it was great for them to have the freedom around the grounds and the Lough. It was also great to have family over.

The property has excellent facilties and a beautiful view of the lake and surrounding area.
It has a great heating system also in case of chilly days. Its extremely homely and the simplest check in/check out system I've seen. Support is on hand whenever needed.
I would absolutely stay here again. Perfect accommodation.
The house is perfect: large, confortable, beautiful, with a stunning view and a large garden.
Everything is organized to make your stay a five star stay. We'll definitely go back there!
