Royal Springs River House Retreat aka "The Treehouse"

This 3 acre Retreat is a 3 bedroom, 2 bath stilt house with epic breezes and views of the historic Suwannee River, with huge wrap around deck, covered screened room with breakfast bar, and large Florida room aka the game room. It has multiple picnic tables, outside grill, fire pit, hammocks, and benches for relaxing by the fire, or by the river, all overlooking a huge backyard and natural river view.

Bring a picnic lunch and walk to Royal Springs and jump off the dock into the crystal clear blue/green spring. Bring your boat or jet ski as there is a boat ramp at the spring as well. Kayak up and down the river and discover the hidden springs nearby.

Go spring hopping to some of the many beautiful springs in the area, such as Little River Spring, Peacock Springs, Charles Springs, and be sure to tube the lazy river at Ichetucknee Springs.

This was an absolutely delightful house on the water. Plenty of room for the kids to run, it didn't feel sketchy with the river nearby (if you're anxious like me and worried about kids near a river, there's a decent land barrier), tons of stuff to do at the house and nearby, gorgeous area and great hosts!

Comfortable beds, soft sheets and lots of towels. Our week long stay was a delight and we were able to enjoy a truly relaxing trip to visit family and friends nearby. Christine and Tony were very responsive and even brought a cooler over from their home for us to use during our stay. We are looking forward to our next visit, hopefully in the spring! Oh, and the PacMan arcade game was a real trip down memory lane and we all enjoyed playing!

Paradise on the Suwannee

Such a peaceful quiet place to get away to and relax. The camp site next door was a big bonus as it allowed our friends to visit and be literally next door. Highly recommended!

We had some survey workers working south of Mayo area and needed a safe, clean place to stay for a few weeks. This gave them the comforts of home rather than driving back and forth to Orlando each day. Much better than having them stay in a hotel week after week. Owner very responsive to all needs.

Royal spring trip

Overall house was great. Beautiful location on the Suwanee river. Right down road from Royal springs. We stayed in home for two nights, 6 kids and 4 adults. Very conformable house. Kitchen needs more (pots pans etc.)to accommodate making a meal there but we made due. Thanks for allowing us to stay in the great place. .

Suwanee River Getaway

We were in town for a couple of days and wanted to stay on the Suwanee river. This property provided great access to the river and was a peaceful setting in a country area. Mothers Day Trip

Quiet,Relaxing. Just what we needed after loosing our brother in March. View from the porch was awseme. Drank wine on the river every night. One night had a fire in the fire pit. We rented this place for our daughter’s 4th birthday because she wanted to camp, swim, kayak etc… our fave part was setting up the projector movie night and then she camped on the deck with dad. Away from the bugs and grass but still the experience of camping. Pac man was enjoyed by everyone. The hosts had excellent communication. House was great! Close to the river and springs, fire pit and more. Wish we could have stayed longer to hang around the hammocks and stuff but there’s so much to do we never got the chance! Thanksgiving retreat

This property and location were a fabulous retreat for our family. There was wood for the fire pit, canoes and kayaks easily accessible and very close to many natural springs. View of the river from the kitchen window! Plenty of space in the house for indoor activities too. Plenty of space for 4 adults to be together or go off on their own. Very comfortable, spacious and clean. Relaxing and fun for the whole family. Views are picturesque during the day. Host is very responsive. Drive to the house is adventurous with the dirt roads. Decking in need of small repairs, slippery when wet and icy. Front door lock took getting use to. Overall, 9 out of 10, definitely recommend

What brought us to the area? In Florida, it's great to be near cool crisp springs, and kayaking the historic Suwannee River gets you outside in nature to enjoy finding the hidden springs on the river. Each section of the river is different, so stay awhile and explore. We did!

Why they chose this property

We are a quaint rural community that boasts not only river access, but a natural spring, boat ramp, horses (ask about natural horsemanship class availability), cows, lots of deer, owls and other wildlife to enjoy. It is like living in a park, yet only a 20 minute drive to multiple towns in each direction.
