About this property

The Retreat on Broad @ Trustees' Garden

Summary:

On St. Paddy's Parade Rt! Luxury and history combine to provide an incredible Savannah lodging experience. With two ensuites, this second-floor apartment offers newly renovated spaces that bring all the comfort you expect today while preserving the historical touches of this long-standing piece of Savannah’s colonial past. Steps from The Pirate House (Savannah’s oldest building), minutes to the Riverwalk, and on the original grounds of Trustee Gardens, history surrounds your stay at The Retreat.

The Space:

This home was built at the turn of the century and combined the popular federal design with aspects of antebellum and colonial styles. Beautifully kept through the years, the home still features original wood flooring, an original fireplace, and original hand-crafted crown modeling. Built on the grounds of the original Trustees’ Garden, this historic area of Savannah has played a significant role in Savannah’s history. First as an experimental garden, then as various military forts and Ironworks, and now as an incredible combination of beautiful venues. You are genuinely staying atop Savannah’s history with a stay at The Retreat on Broad.

Enter the apartment through a private entrance and immediately step into an open floor plan with original heart pine floors, two flanking fireplaces, and high ceilings with oversized windows filling the space with natural light.

The living area and kitchen flow perfectly together, creating an inviting space perfect for cooking and relaxing after a day of exploring. In the living room, enjoy an oversized sofa and smart TV ready to stream your favorite shows. The kitchen features all custom cabinetry and copper-tone granite countertops. Brand-new stainless-steel appliances and all the essentials provide you with everything you need to cook full meals during your stay.

Step from the kitchen to a long dining room that leads to your private balcony that has beautiful skyline views and overlooks a shared courtyard. The terrace features comfortable outdoor seating for four, while the handcrafted dining table provides seating for six.

The apartment's two ensuites are located at opposite ends of the living room. The first ensuite provides a king mattress with crisp linens, plush pillows, relaxing tones of blue and white, and a smart TV. Four oversized windows provide ample natural light, and the original heart pine floors add a warm touch to the room. Directly off the suite is your private bathroom with a pedestal sink and low-entry shower wrapped in white subway tile.

The second ensuite is outfitted with a new queen mattress and fresh white linens. The room has ample closet space, a smart TV, and a dedicated workspace ideal for working remotely. In the corner of the room, enter the suite's private bathroom with a pedestal sink and shower/tub combination. All bathrooms are supplied with the essentials, including toilet paper, towels, shampoo, body wash, and a hair dryer.

Are you traveling in a slightly larger group? The living room sofa pulls out into a full mattress providing a third sleeping accommodation.

Are you working remotely during your stay? Our fiberoptic WIFI provides sufficient speeds for video conferencing and multitasking.
