Welcome to Skytop Mountain House, a sprawling home with "breathtaking" views!
Just 1 hour from Denver, this luxury getaway is beloved by families, friend groups and couples looking for a romantic retreat (we’ve already hosted four successful proposals and counting!).
Our show-stopping 4-bedroom vacation house sits at the top of a hill at 9,157 feet elevation, with a nearly 3,400-square-foot floor plan that gives everyone plenty of space for true R&R!
The space
Soak in the hot tub on the deck while taking in a panorama of awe-inspiring mountains, including Bandit Peak and Rosalie Peak. Relax by the flickering gas fireplace while admiring the alpine views out the sky-high windows. Reconnect with friends and family in our game room, where nostalgic thrills (yep, that’s a Ms. Pac-Man arcade), foosball, board games, and a well-stocked DVD library await. You won’t have to duke it out over who gets the best room here, thanks to two (!) primary bedroom suites with 680-thread-count linens on the king beds, walk-in closets, private decks, and spa-like bathrooms with deep soaking tubs! We splurged on high-quality furniture from Room & Board, Denver Modern, Soho Home, Article, vintage Eames for Herman Miller, and more. Chefs will love the tricked-out kitchen, complete with a new Café induction stovetop; we also recently added Starlink satellite internet for high-speed WiFi. Parents will appreciate the cabin-themed twin trundle bed for kiddos (and a real hotel-quality crib for infants). Those with EVs like Tesla will be happy to know that we just outfitted the house with a Tesla Universal Wall Connector for a quick charge. Skytop Mountain House is close to fishing and hiking galore…and just a 60 minute drive from Denver and 48 minutes from Red Rocks amphitheater!

Guest access

Other things to note
Several days prior to your check-in, we will send check-in instructions and the Skytop Mountain House guide book. The guidebook contains all necessary and relevant information relating to your stay—including suggestions for the best things to see and do around Bailey, our favorite restaurants, scenic nearby hikes, and much more!
Snowfall varies in Colorado. For guests staying during late October through late April, we recommend driving an AWD or 4WD vehicle with winter tires. Winter storms can dump about 5" or more of snow at one time—it’s pretty magical, but can be hard to drive in, so preparation is key. Part of the road to our house is not county maintained and can be problematic for cars not properly equipped to handle snow. Our driveway is regularly plowed as needed during the winter months. You’ll want a 4WD or AWD in summer, too…lots of the local roads to hiking trails are unpaved and can be rocky.
This is our family’s getaway home and we are so excited to share it with you! Please treat the space with respect and let us know if any problems arise so we can take action ASAP.
Pets:
We love dogs! Well-behaved pets are welcome; the fee is $100 per stay for the first pet, and $50 per stay for each additional pet.
We have 2 security cameras on the outside of the property that record live video. One views the front porch, the other the driveway.
We love our neighbors and peaceful Park County! Absolutely no parties or events, no firearms, and no smoking or open flames of any kind on the premises (indoors and out). Any evidence of smoking will result in a minimum fine of $650. No illegal stuff. Please keep the music indoors—quiet hours start at 8 p.m.—and turn off overhead lights before bed to protect the beauty of our starry skies for all to enjoy!
