About this property
ON THE BEACH, Borders Whitefish Dunes State Park. Best Location in Door County
The “Door County Beach Home” is ON THE WATER and borders the Whitefish Dunes State Park. Lake Michigan is only 40 feet from the home and has water views from ALL rooms. So close to Lake Michigan, when looking out the windows it looks like you are looking through a magnifying glass. As you look out the large picture windows, you will see the waves rolling onto the beach. The home is surrounded by beautiful white birch trees, assorted evergreen trees, sand dunes and a variety of wildlife including birds and whitetail deer. Our entire lot is sand making it “the largest sandbox” you have ever seen!
With 165 Feet of Private beachfront and the last home on the drive (dead end), It is the most secluded beachfront home in all of Door County. This secluded getaway is situated on one of the only few bays in Door County that has all sand on the beach and in the water, making it great for the little ones to play in and build sand castles. The water is crystal clear.
The home is built on the border of the 1000 acre Whitefish Dunes State Park. You can enter the state park right out our front door. Our home is on the “backside” of the state park, meaning anyone else visiting the State Park needs to park and enter 2 miles to the north of our home!
This 3000 Square Foot Custom Built Home (completely rebuilt, except for one wall, in 2001) has tons of big windows and skylights.
Home Details:
Beds for up to 12 people and 2.5 baths - king size beds in two bedrooms: Master bedroom w/master bath has a king size bed, custom built in dressers and walk in closet. Master is on the main floor with a sliding glass door going out to the deck, overlooking the beach/lake. 2nd bedroom has a king size bed and a twin bed. 3rd bedroom has a queen size bed and a sliding glass door with a great view of the lake. 4th bedroom has a queen size bed. 5th bedroom/Loft has, two twin beds and two skylights.
Relax in the great room, by the custom built fireplace, and be mesmerized by the sight and sound of rolling waves. Enjoy morning coffee on the expansive, beach side deck.
We have converted part of the garage into a game room with a Ping Pong table, Foosball table and electronic dart board to entertain big and little kids alike.

7 Spectacular Scenic Wonders of Door County
By Amy Bayer Last Updated: 8/14/2020
There’s no place in Wisconsin quite like Door County. Known as the “Cape Cod of the Midwest” and beloved by travelers, it’s a place where days are spent by the water and nights end around the bonfire. It’s where to go for a barefoot, carefree, anything goes sort of vacation, where you can wake up to nature - birds chirping, waves crashing - and go to sleep under the stars. It’s the kind of place you want to be in the summer.
A highlight of any trip to Door County is exploring some of the spectacular wonders nature has forged into the peninsula’s unique landscape. From sea caves to sand dunes, a trek around Door County is enough to spark anyone’s inner adventurer. So go ahead, travel off the beaten path and discover what’s out there - you’ll be glad you did!
1. Cave Point County Park
As a county park, Cave Point is often overlooked by those traveling to Door County each year. However, this natural gem along the eastern shore is absolutely worth the trip.
The wind and waves from Lake Michigan have worn away limestone cliffs to create underwater caves. On stormy days, the sound of waves crashing into the cliffs is thunderous, and the spray can shoot up to 20 feet in the air.
The view from the top is breathtaking as you watch the water splash and swirl beneath you; however, there is no railing so keep a careful eye on the kids. Depending on the weather and the tide, visitors can climb down to the water's edge.
7. Whitefish Dunes State Park & State Natural Area
Adjacent to Cave Point County Park, Whitefish preserves (over a 1000 acres) the largest and most significant sand dunes in Wisconsin. Check out "Old Baldy," which rises 93 feet above lake level and is the highest sand dune in the state. Stroll along the sandy lakefront or hike 14.5 miles of trails, including a boardwalk through the wetlands. Be sure to visit the park's nature center, which is open year-round, to learn more about this stunning area.
