About this property

Electric Peak Cabin in Yellowstone Park

NORTH PARK ENTRANCE AT GARDINER. This Yellowstone Cabin Rental Is On Private Acreage Five Miles From The Park's North Gate with the Best Wildlife Watching And Cutthroat Trout Fishing!

Charming cabin built in 2009 with two bedrooms that sleeps 5 located just five minutes from Yellowstone Park's North Entrance on several acres of private property. Perfect for travelers who want easy access to the famous Northern Range and Lamar Valley with its bison, elk, deer, wolves, bears, AND fishing for world-famous Yellowstone cutthroat trout!

This beautiful cabin is unlike all other vacation rental properties in the area. Lying in an extremely private location just above Highway 89 north of Gardiner, Montana, and the Roosevelt Arch, the cabin is easily accessed by a well-maintained, short, 300 yard-long Private Drive.

This setting provides you with total solitude and isolation from any hustle and bustle of the busy roadways leading to/from the park. However, at the same time, when needed, you are just minutes away from restaurants, the market, and shops in Gardiner or a bit further away in Livingston and Bozeman.

Built on a log frame, this cabin has all modern amenities yet has a great amount of rustic appeal including beautiful hardwood floors. It has enormous windows giving you unmatched views of Yellowstone's Electric Peak, Devil's Slide, Dome Mountain, and many other spectacular geological features. Wildlife abound here and deer, elk, pronghorn antelope, bighorn sheep, or bison are seen on the meadows and mountain slopes near the cabin. Often during the spring and fall, they are standing right in the cabin's yard. No-where else in the northern Rockies will you find wildlife this abundant and close in a natural setting.

Horses graze nearby, and the Yellowstone River, home to world-class trout fishing, leaves the park and passes just a few hundred yards below you.

There are many access sites to the Yellowstone River very near to the cabin, one within easy walking distance (that is a very great fishing spot...just ask our boys!).

Being near Gardiner, our cabin is at the home of the Yellowstone Forever, a long-standing educational institute offering numerous courses in the park. The Electric Peak Cabin is a perfect place to stay when visiting and attending these courses.

Very easy to check in. Place was clean and had lots of kitchen supplies- spices, pans, utensils, aluminum foil, etc. The unit had bear spray already, which was nice for our group. Property was well maintained. Only improvement to mention is that the futon in the living room did not pull out into an additional bed, however there was plenty of sleeping space with the two queens and top bunk over one of the queens. Great stay!! I would do it again.

The cabin was clean, had everything stocked, and it was close to to entrance of Yellowstone where we adventured to everyday. The hosts were excellent in communication, the check in, check out was simple and easy. The price is affordable for a family. Beds were comfortable. We recommend this to anyone. A gorgeous rustic place that really allowed us to feel immersed in it all. The beautiful horses next door were such a highlight — full of funny personalities — and the host was absolutely lovely. A wonderful stay. Will be back!

This is the perfect rustic stay with the comforts of a hot shower with fluffy towels, functional kitchen and comfy beds. It was the perfect size for our family of four, 2 adults and 2 teenagers. The outdoor picnic area is a nice spot to drink coffee in the morning or eat dinner in the evening. We stayed in July and although the weather was warm the evenings cooled down nicely. There were games to play and a TV to login to your favorite streaming accounts. The only thing it needs is a little better couch that is more comfortable. The seating provided is great in theory because it looks the part for a rustic cabin but after a long day of hiking and sight seeing all your body wants is to relax in comfortable chairs. We made due with adding pillows from other rooms. Other than that this place is perfect place to stay only being 10 mins from the north gate entrance and had great views of the river and the hill side into Yellowstone. Would recommend to friends and family!

The cabin is wonderful and the kitchen is fully equipped, including coffee and tea. The host has provided binoculars, which were perfect for watching the elk everyday across the valley and right next door. The cabin has the feel of being away from everything, yet has good WiFi and is 5 minutes from town. The host, Todd, has been wonderful to work with, especially with a scheduling error on my part. He is very friendly. The views are heavenly. The stars are too. I would definitely stay here again.

The views were amazing. I loved the picture windows in the front. The space was everything we were looking for. Pretty secluded, no signal (wifi available if we wanted) We went in mid march so we had sunshine as well as snow. Note that much of Yellowstone is not accessible from the nearest entrance to this cabin. Todd was great, stopped by on his way out to say hi. We just truly enjoyed this stay all around. We plan to return

This is a lovely place! The pictures don't do it justice. Amazing views all around. Cute space for a few people. We had 5 adults (3 young adults shared the bunk). The living room is small, but we all could fit, and furniture not too comfy (think cabin-like), but that was the only drawback. 4 chairs at the table so not all 5 of us could fit. We stayed one night, and we enjoyed the porch, the firepit, and the black horse right next door. My son fed it lots of grass and really connected with him. The check in and checkout was late (5pm) and early (9am), but the host was willing to let us check in at 4:30pm, and late check out so we could make breakfast and enjoy before heading out. We would recommend this place highly! Thank you!!

About the host

Hosted by Todd Koel

Host profile image
We are a family of six including four young boys who love the Greater Yellowstone Area.

Todd has a Ph.D. in Zoology and works professionally to preserve the native animals here, especially Yellowstone cutthroat trout and the ecosystem they support!

Why they chose this property

We have built this cabin here because Yellowstone Park is the greatest place on the face of the planet. We want to provide an opportunity for visitors to relax and share in the Yellowstone experience.

The Yellowstone River and great fishing are within walking distance of the cabin door. Also the Yellowstone Association and all its educational opportunities are found right near our place at Gardiner.

This is our home and we love it. Come on out here and stay for awhile!
