We greatly enjoyed our stay. The historic home was perfectly located for our needs. Fit five adults and a 17 y/o comfortably. The house was well appointed with multiple televisions and a game room. The grounds provided a welcome alternative to being a couch potato. Just a really pleasant place to spend a long weekend.
Great house and property in a wonderfully historic area. Activities galore! If you have a group or larger family, the games, books, pool table, karaoke...they got it. We had 8 friends. Communication and check in/out was great. Very clean. Many TVs. It was exactly as described. Would definitely come back.Bobby

Large house with amenities, not for elderly
Loved the home, the bathrooms did not acommodate an elderly family member. Could not take a shower! Lots of stairs up to the bedroom and stairs dow into the bathroom. We did have a great time in the home, used the grill, the fire pit and all the living spaces. Beds were comfortable but pillows were cheap ones.
Wonderful property in a great locations. Nicely decorated and easily walkable to many places in the downtown. Very historical home with lots of space for various activities. Bonus library/game room. Plenty of bathrooms and spacious bedrooms.
Wonderfully beautiful place for being so old. Super clean with lots of amenities. Owner was very responsive. Within walking distance to several nice shops and restaurants. Only down side might be the parking if more than 2 vehicles would be accessing the drive. Otherwise, we truly enjoyed our stay. Would definitely recommend!
The pictures do not do this place justice. We were a little worried it might feel cramped based on the photos but after we arrived all six of us were very impressed by the space. Each of the three couples were able to spread out in different sections of the upstairs and when relaxing downstairs, the multiple rooms for lounging made it feel like we weren't on top of each other but still offered plenty of room for group games.
The central location in Geneva was also a huge boon. A short walk for nearby food, and the lake front only a few blocks away made for some good light exercise in the evenings. Monaco's coffee shop is literally across the street and each morning served up a delicious combo of caffeine and light breakfast.
We will absolutely look to Historic 98 again when we return to the lakes next.
If you like old houses with character, you will love this house! It’s not only spacious and well decorated, but it was clean and had plenty of furniture for 8 adults. Also, plenty of towels in each bathroom. The kitchen had everything needed to cook and grill. Only spices were salt and pepper. I knew that in advance after reaching out to the host. They only provided 3 pods for laundry so I needed to go to the store for more. One problem we encountered was that the previous tenants didn’t take garbage to the road until check out day which left us with full garbage cans on arrival day.
I thought the cleaning crew would have seen that to take care of, but didn’t. I found out later in the week that the host was unaware. In our second morning we woke up to the grounds crew mowing and weed whacking, blowing off the patio which is pretty close to the living room window. I thought we should had been warned in advance. Other than that, it was an amazing house. As far as location, it was perfect walking distance to restaurants, taverns, etc. but don’t expect to find a nice beach to swim. We drove 20 minutes to the State Park. It was disappointing. They have a spray ground in town for the kids, but nothing for adults to speak of. Great wine tasting choices though!!
