Excellent stay, beautiful house

My husband and I were so impressed with Janice's house and the apartment in which we stayed for three nights. Very clean, quiet, and so close to downtown Littleton (about a 10 minute walk). Neither of us had ever been to Littleton (we were in the area for a wedding), but now that we know about Janice's place, we will definitely be back to explore the area.

The house worked out perfectly for us: walking distance to Main St; nice master bedroom, and our 5yo twins in the second bedroom (though note that it only closes via curtain, not a wall). Janice was a wonderful host -- she even gave us honey from her beehives! We would definitely stay here again.

Wonderful place to stay

Convenient location in the center of Littleton. My wife and I have stayed here several times. The owners and their family are great. I would tell about the cookies and other treats they regularly gave us, but in case don't get them, I'll keep my mouth shut. The owners understand about keeping their bathroom items to a minimum so guests have room for all our stuff. The washer/dryer in the bathroom was convenient; that's where all the dirty clothes are. Good bedroom air conditioner, although you probably won't need it. This house is stocked with everything you need, including all cookware, spices, and supplies.

My two favorite things about the property were the comfy king size bed and the claw foot bathtub. The location is close to grocery, gas, and restaurants. We enjoyed being close to Bretton Woods for zip lining and to the beautiful Franconia State Park ( a must see if you are in the area). The house is well maintained and squeaky clean. The kitchen is well stocked if preparing your own meals. We did buy candy at Chutters(candy store with longest candy counter in the world) and we don’t even have a sweet tooth, but we do enjoy dark chocolate.

A wonderful week in New Hampshire

We enjoyed our stay in this beautiful house in LIttleton New Hampshire. The house was immaculate, and we had everything we needed for our stay. Its a short walk to LIttleton Center, which was important to us. Littleton is one of the most beautiful small towns in the United States, You can walk to many fine restaurants, and check out the many interesting stores for shopping. and we would strongly encourage anyone to visit LIttleton.. Our unit had an eat in kitchen, with everything you needed to cook for yourselves. The bathroom was large, with an old fashioned bathtub that even I could fit in (I'm 6'1).It also had a washer and dryer, which was nice as you generate a lot of dirty clothes on vacation in the Summer. There was an abundance of towels and washcloths, and anything else you might need. The main bedroom is large, with a comfortable bed, and gets the beautiful morning light as you wake up. The 2nd bedroom had a sleeper sofa that my son found to be very comfortable. The unit has cable tv and air conditioning, which we both enjoyed using. We did a lot of hiking, as we were very close to the many hiking trails in the area. Once again we had a wonderful stay, and would love to come back again. I know for a fact that we will recommend this wonderful house to anyone!

Adorable house right in town with everything you could want. Walking distance from Main Street.

This is a house that has been divided into two apartments. It is clean, comfortable, has everything you need, walking distance to Main Street and other local attractions, a 5 minutes drive to major grocery stores, and a short drive to national parks and lakes. The place was all ready for us when we arrived so much so that we never needed to ask any questions of the owners. We will definitely stay here again on our next trip to Littleton, and there will be a next trip. You need weeks to enjoy all it has to offer.

Great location, lots of character!

My sister, mom, and I were here for a long weekend and it was such a lovely stay! The house was very clean when we arrived (my mom even took a bath in the clawfoot tub without a thought). The sofa bed in the second room was pulled out and made up for us. The mattresses in both rooms were very comfortable. The house was perfectly appointed - there were plenty of towels, spare toiletries in case we forgot something, extra blankets, plenty of hot water, everything we needed and nothing we didn't. The house is a quick and pleasant walk to town (with sidewalks) and we had breakfast and dinner in town most days. If you are a light sleeper, just know that an upstairs neighbor can be heard (floor creaking, walking), as is expected with a home this age. All in all, we were very pleased with our stay and would definitely stay here again. Thank you, Janice, for a wonderful experience!

What a bonus!!!!!

We had a great weekend with perfect weather. Janice and Joe not only had the place well appointed but invited us to suit up and work some bee hives with them to learn about honey bees! We know we'll be back in the spring to see them and the honeybees!

Charming home with all of the necessary amenities

This is a charming home, well appointed, with all of the necessary amenities. We found the location to be great, we wanted it within walking distance to Schilling Beer co, and it was perfect. This home was set in a quite neighborhood, so you could really get a feel for the town. We will definitely come again!!

Perfect for our purposes.

This accommodation has everything we needed. Appreciated a fresh bag of coffee on the counter and a full spice cupboard. Even some fresh eggs in the refrigerator and basic condiments. It is very clean and well equipped with everything you need. Bed was awesomely comfortable with wonderful sheets and comforter. Quiet neighbourhood but just a five minute walk to Main Street. Littleton itself is a super little town lots of cafe's, the schilling brewery, pizza spots and shopping too. Beautiful town.

All the comforts of home

I'd stay at Kilburn Place again in a heart beat. The owners were very responsive and accommodating. The listing description was accurate. The house had everything we needed. We enjoyed air conditioning in the bedroom (with king size bed) our first night as it was a hot one. We ate breatfasts each morning in the fully equipped kitchen. There was plenty of room for our trailer in the yard. The paved u-shaped driveway made getting in and out easy. There were renters staying on the floor above us (Kilburn Place Unit #2 - ID 624547). We could hear them moving around. It wasn't a problem, just something to expect when you stay. The location was perfect. A 15 minute stroll along the river and over a covered bridge brought us to downtown's shops and restruarants. We enjoyed the Chang Thai Cafe so much, we ate dinner there twice. Polly's Pancake Parlor was a 20 minute drive. Hiking for all skill levels in Franconia Notch was a beautiful 20 - 30 minute drive. The property was centrally located for many scenic drives through New Hampshire's White Mountains and Vermont's scenic byway (Route 5). I'd recommend Kilburn Place to family and friends. I look forward to returning.

A cozy home base

My husband and I really enjoyed staying here at the Kilburn Place as a home base to hike and explore the White Mountains. This cozy apartment is walking distance to downtown Littleton (which is adorable!) and is in a good location to get around the White Mountains. Janice is a delight to work with and the house is clean, well stocked and stylish. We are so happy that we found this little gem. Thank you Janice for a wonderful stay, we hope to return!

COMFY, CONVENIENT AND ACCOMMODATING

Stayed at the house in August as a base for a hike into the White Mts. The Kilburn Place is close to town (walk-able) and the Interstate. It was clean, with everything to make our stay our "home away from home", including the claw footed tub for a hot soak after a long hike. As a fellow VRBO owner from Maine, I know it is important for the owner to be available and Janice, who lives across the street, was there with helpful suggestions about Littleton and the area. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED AND A BIG THUMBS UP !!

JUST PERFECT IN EVERY WAY!!!!

This house (we stayed in unit two) was beyond wonderful. I don't know how Janice did it but everything, I mean everything, was perfect! We traveled with our two young children (a five year old and a two year old). JANICE LEFT A GREAT LITTLE BOWL OF TREATS (popcorn, teas, candies,etc.). The unit/house was immaculate! We had games and videos we could borrow! There was even small soaps left in the bathroom for us! The best thing had to be the awesome binder left on the kitchen table with brochures and recommendations for all the great local restaurants, events and things to do! I would recommend this house to anyone! We will DEFINITELY be back! This place is TRULY a gem!!!!

Perfect appartment - very well furnished & decorated / Super Wohnung mit toller Einrichtung

About Littleton: Perfect gateway to the White Mountains. Very nice little town, with farmers market at the weekend, perfect organic groceries shopping at the food coop also within walking distance, nice restaurants in town center within walking distance. We liked especially the Schilling Brewery with very nice different beers and Pizza plus a nice deck and beer garden to sit outside in summer. About the appartment: We stayed at the ground-floor appartment. Everything was perfectly clean and we liked the style of the whole appartment: nice wooden floor, comfortable couch, huge bed, very light and airy atmosphere. The kitchen was very well equiped. Very safe and quite neighborhood. Our landlord + landlady were very nice and helpful. We would definitely stay there again.

Awesome place to stay for the weekend!

I am so glad to have stumbled upon this incredible rental! Three friends and I reserved half of the house last minute when our original camping plans were rained out. The house had everything we needed and more. The interior is sparkling clean and very modern and stylish. The bedrooms are spacious and comfortable with large beds, nice linens, and air conditioning! The TV room was great for lounging and watching the World Cup. The kitchen was incredibly well stocked with cookware and basic spices, and there is even a grill on the porch, so we had a lot of fun cooking for ourselves every night. The property is not too large, but Janice maintains a nice vegetable garden and beautiful flowers. You should check out the hops growing up the back deck! Downtown Littleton is within walking distance and has a lot to offer. I highly recommend Schilling Beer Co. for its local beer, wood-fired pizza, and great atmosphere. We did all our shopping at the Littleton Co-op, which had great selection (and allowed us to use the discount card our hosts provided us with). The house is also within easy driving distance of some great parks and hikes. We enjoyed boating on Echo Lake and swimming in Forest Lake state park. Of course the best part of the stay was interacting with an extremely helpful, accommodating, and easy to contact host. Janice and her husband live right across the road. Janice welcomed us when we arrived and showed us around. She kindly gave us the larger downstairs apartment because her other guests who had originally reserved it had cancelled. Throughout the weekend she made sure we had everything we needed but also made us feel like the place was our own. Thanks again for helping us have a wonderful 4th of July weekend!

Quiet, relaxing stay close to everything you need

My toddler son and I stayed in the upstairs unit, along with my husband who was in town for a work training all week. It was the perfect place for us and so much better than staying in a hotel. We stayed in the upstairs unit. It was clean, had every utensil we needed and plenty of towels. There was also a washer and dryer, which was great with our messy son. Our host was very friendly and recommended some good places to eat and also let us use her membership to the co-op, which was great and right up the street. We could easily walk right into town and have lunch or dinner. The bonus was a swing set for my son to play on. If we ever find ourselves up that way again, we would definitely stay there.

nice place

the house is very big and cozy at the same time. the homeowner very kindly gave me the account number to the food coop, which is basically just up the street, so I was able to stock up on everything my first night there. when I had trouble with stopping the drain to take a bath she sent her husband over the very next day and fixed the problem for me, which was greatly appreciated. overall it was a really nice experience!

The owner was great to work with. Even phoned us to provide a lantern on our arrival during a bad storm. The accommodations so much better than a hotel room, room to relax and prepare some of the meals. Littleton is convenient to the attractions of the area. Photo of the property were accurate. It had every thing we needed to enjoy our stay. We plan to use VRBO again and again.

Nice town, nice house, nice host

We've stayed for a few nights in Littleton. House is very clean, great location - walking distance to the Main street, a lot of information about the area and activities around is provided by the hosts. White Mountains park is "next door", great views, very relaxing.
