Memorable stay

We all had a good time walking down the beach, having full view of the ocean. There's also Ralph's and small restaurants nearby. Response was very quick to our requests. Highly recommended!

Firstly, the views from this place are incredible. You take a holiday here for exactly this. Relaxing by the sea, listening to the waves. The location is unbeatable so that’s incredibly positive. The staff are great also.However it needs some modernisation. The bath is very difficult to get in and out of (borderline dangerous) and the tub is cracked. Looks like it’s been repaired with tape several times. General condition of the property is pretty bad. Cracked bathtub, floor tiles, sliding doors are pretty much on their way out. There is a bad ant problem which meant they were in our bed most nights. They did provide ant traps but it really made us feel unsettled. The view really made up for all the downfalls. If the property under went some maintenance I would definitely return.

Has an absolutely wonderful stay. Beautiful views, nice balcony to enjoy eating and relaxing on and walking distance to restaurants and pier. Loved hearing the waves. Check in and check out process was very easy. Would definitely recommend!

The condo was exactly the same in person as represented in the listing. We loved being able to walk to the pier and the Malibu Market.

amazing location

This property is right on the ocean and the waves break loudly (good thing for me) and the water literally flows under the property. We kept the sliding doors open at night and the surf allowed us to sleep very well. The place has not been updated, the bed's mattress is not great, and there is no dishwasher. Otherwise, I recommend this property.

Beautiful location

We had a nice time. Location couldn’t be better. The property manager was 5 star! Only complaints are too many remotes make watching TV difficult and lots of corrosion on things from the salt air. But guess that’s what happens!

Great spot!

We had a great stay at this location. There where 4 of us, including 2 teens and we had plenty of space. Lots of kitchen items for cooking and dining as well as plenty of choice for eating out. The property is right on the beach and the waves do come right in, we loved it! Saw dolphins and sealions daily. Very easy access onto the beach, boys enjoyed surfing and we enjoyed morning walks on the beach with our coffee. Great sized balcony to enjoy the views. We would come back!

Fantastic location!

The shower is only accessible by climbing over a three foot high and two foot wide rampart, which seems like a lawsuit waiting to happen and was pretty difficult to access. Anyone older or with any mobility problems should be aware of this. Besides that, this place is A+++! The owner and property manager are friendly and extremely helpful, and you're RIGHT on the water (which is why you are here!)- it's easily accessible and a beautiful walk. We'll definitely stay here again!

Great location

A good deal on the Malibu oceanfront and very easy to get to everywhere in the area. Great to have secure parking. A few things to know, you are literally over the waves. This is very cool and can be loud for some to sleep with. Short walk to a sandy beach but not really right out front (unless super low tide). Place is good, but could use some updating and cozying up + tub/shower mix awkward to get into.

The condo floors were very dirty, pots and pans were horrible, stove top burners did not work. Floor Tiles were cracked and older people can not get into the bathtub because it is way too high. Sleep 6 but they only have 4 chairs.

Pros and Cons

We had a fantastic time and we would definitely stay again. I feel like the cons I mention aren’t really that big of a deal and they are common in beach front properties. PROS: Price is awesome. You won’t find anything this amazing on the beach for the price. Location is nice Owner and staff are friendly Secure and convenient parking Private beach with tide pools in your backyard. We found hundreds of hermit crabs, little fish, some starfish, and some other wild life such as seals and dolphins. A seal came up to our balcony and talked to us. CONS: Ants in the bathroom (I saw about 10-15 ants randomly scattered) common in beach front properties. Sand fleas, also common but a bit of a nuisance and scary thought that they can burrow into your skin and live for 4-6 weeks in your skin. But they are common in beaches in California, they are nearly everywhere. So it’s not a big deal and they are only outside. Electrical problems: we had the heater, tvs, and lights go out a few times while we were there due to the breaker being tripped. Dated building: the building was built quite some time ago so it’s understandable it is a bit dated and worn. I didn’t mind this but I know some snobby people might be appalled at the site of rust and warped wood from the wet ocean air. To sum things up there were some minor cosmetic issues and the issues with the power but it was a fantastic home and I would love to stay there again.

Living the Malibu Beach Life on the Holiday Weekend

The Dolphin two bedroom beach front rental property was mostly enjoyable. It wasn't perfect, but perfection on the Malibu beach front costs a lot more. The location was great, a block from the Malibu pier. Pulling out of the driveway onto PCH was exhilarating, since the parked cars block your view of the fast oncoming traffic. The small pedestrian gate does not latch, so anyone can enter the parking lot from the sidewalk (or from the beach). This property is right on the beach. At high tide, the waves wash under your balcony. The view is amazing, especially at sunrise. You are facing south, so the sun rises to your left, and sets behind a hill to your right. You have to go to the pier to see the sunset better. The pier has a restaurant, a cafe, and the amazing 1 Gun Ranch Shop. The birds will steal your restaurant food. The one car garage barely has room to fit a 2016 Mustang. There is junk, I mean, equipment in the front of the garage which decreases the available length, which led to the garage door scraping the bumper of my daughter's previously unmarked shiny red Mustang. That equipment could be put on hooks on the wall. You get one parking place in front of the garage, so if you bring your Prius and Suburban, you will have adequate parking. The apartment is white, bright, and cheerful, with beach oriented decor. The kitchen has a nice newer granite countertop with stove and oven. The trash can is microscopic and hides under the sink. The sink is rusted around the outside corners. There is no garbage disposal. The one bed bedroom has no closet, but has a sliding glass door to the balcony. You can hang your hang-able clothes on the louvers. It kind of looks like modern art, depending on if you have colorful clothes. The bathroom has a monster whirlpool type tub, with a two foot tall wall that you have to climb to get into the tub. Bring a step stool for Grandma. The wireless Internet worked about 5% of the time. Don't plan on wirelessly connecting to the Internet with your laptop or smartphone. You will have to depend on the data on your smartphone, which is spotty in Malibu. The deadbolt was really tough to lock with a key. The hallway outside the apartment had no working light bulbs, so you had to open the door in the dark if it was dark. Beach access was easy. Walk around the corner of the building and you are there. None of these items were a big deal. I'm just stating the facts. I would happily stay there again. The people were very nice.

The beach! The view! The location! I chose this spot for those three reasons. All three reasons were exactly what I wanted out of this stay and it delivered! You cannot beat the ocean waves crashing and coming right up under the property. Beach access was easy and convenient. Beach accessories were easy to grab out of the dedicated garage. The patio was large and pretty "little" dog safe (minus a few little spots of trellis that were broken off around the base. Easy to grab the bedroom trash bin to block it off. Speaking of bedrooms... both well appointed. Just one closet for hanging items in the second bedroom. Both bedrooms had a dresser.Kitchen also well stocked with what you might need. Cozy couch. Shower/tub might be hard for some people to access. Good shower pressure and temperature. The Dolphin does have some wear but it is the beach afterall. The property itself was well maintained.Host Angel was great!I'd book it again!

Malibu get away

We loved the place it was such a great location to be right basically on the ocean! Only complaint was the bath tub I am 5ft tall and had to climb over the side of the tub to get in the shower! Other than that place was clean and location was great! We loved walking to the Malibu pier !

All about location

The location was 5 star, but the property itself was very underwhelming… Not very clean, furniture was worn out, uncomfortable beds, smaller than expected (doesn’t fit 6 comfortably), outside smelled like cat urine. But again, the location was fabulous.

Location Location Location!

Ideal location for first time to Malibu! Great dining options within 5 min walk to the pier. Malibu Farms offered healthy options with indoor and outdoor seating (great view of the surfers) - a welcomed surprise! Other restaurants within walking. Pepperdine University is a 5 min drive down the street - beautiful campus with Sunday morning church service. An occasional dolphin and sea lion was spotted off our balcony and many surfers to watch near the pier. Would highly recommend.
