Coral Cove at Villa Coral is an elegant and welcoming waterfront apartment on the island of Culebra; a Natural Reserve that can only be described as paradise. It has a spectacular view of Ensenada Honda Bay (Culebra's main harbor) and a convenient public dock; a perfect place to dock your boat or be picked up by a water taxi, fishing or scuba diving excursion. The villa has a private parking space and jeep rentals are readily available.

The property is located in town and is just a 1-5 minute walk to grocery and convenience stores, deli, bakery, restaurants, shops & the ferry dock. Culebra has one of the top 3 beaches in the world: Flamenco Beach. Zoní, Carlos Rosario, Tamarindo and Melones are some of the other famous beaches of Culebra. Flamenco and Zoní are perfect for bathing while Melones and Carlos Rosario are great spots for snorkeling. For surfers, Playa Brava is the perfect spot to catch some waves in one of the most scenic islands of the world.

Nice view of water from balcony. Good location, walking distance to restaurants and stores, but quiet at night. Beds were comfortable. Not quite enough comfortable seating for four people, but fine for a group of two.

Excellent get away!

Gustov was an excellent host who’s follow up was exceptional. The location and cleanliness of the unit was superb! I would definitely recommend staying here. A golf cart or vehicle is very handy to get around the island.

This is in an ideal location. We walked to every restaurant and shop. The view from the patio was perfect. We spent most of our down time out there. The owner was quick to help with a towel glitch. It was so great that we are considering booking another trip.

Great oasis in a tropical paradise!!

We were very excited to visit Culebra and wanted some time on the island, so we decided to look for a place to stay. We were so glad we picked this condo. It has a beautiful view, was steps from 3 different resturants that were open late, steps from 2 grocery stores and walking distance from the ferry. Everything about the location was perfect. The host even sent us information on all the resturants, buisnesses and places to go. Could not have been more helpful. Thanks so much!!! CJ

Great location, but the rest was…

From bad advertising (there is no “chef service” and unless you’re staying for more than a thirty days you get no access to the washer or dryer), to missing basics (linens, garbage bags, toilet paper, paper towels) to broken appliances (no vents or lights on stove), sketchy electrical issues, to window shades that won’t move, to a lake of leaky water that took up half the hallway and half the master bedroom - this stay was not what we expected. All of this can be forgiven with a caring, attentive host, but the timeliness and quality of our hosts’ responses were so bad at one point we just gave up. Great location though!

Great Location, Unfortunate Plumbing Issues

Property was in a great location in town, but removed enough that it wasn’t noisy at night. The listing may need to have updated photos, as the second bedroom had one queen size bed versus the pictured twin and trundle. Unfortunately the apartment in entirety wasn’t quite up to our cleanliness standards. Additionally to that, the main bathroom toilet was out of use for plumbing issues. However, the host and owner were very responsive, which made the issues more forgiving!

The location can't be beat

This was our 6th visit to Culebra and we have stayed at different locations, all over the island. This location is just the best, since we really enjoyed staying right in town, with a short walk to the markets and restaurants nearby. Our rental got off to a rocky start, when we were given the wrong access code to the key box, but a phone call to the owner quickly remedied the situation. We immediately fell in love with the place and the balcony over-looking the bay, is one spot you'll never want to leave. There was a wonderful breeze the whole time we were there and we never needed the AC. We didn't realize that the washer & dryer are only available to long term rentals and we were only there for four nights. Not a big deal, but I do wish that had been mentioned in the website description, or maybe I over-looked that? Anyway, we had an amazing time there and sure can't wait to return!

How can they forget to clean it

I chose this place because of the great reviews and how they spoke highly of Gustavo. Well that was not our case. He seemed bothered when asked for information and on arriving our apt was a mess. He stated the cleaning crew forgot to clean it. We spent the rest of our day cleaning and washing in order for us to feel comfortable. The location is good but the poor management was horrible. I will get with them for a refund

I responded promptly to ALL of Monica's questions. Unfortunately, she kept asking the same questions over and over again and also failed to understand that we are not responsible for transportation to/from Culebra. This all prompted a feeling that she was not the type of guest we prefer to host, which was subsequently confirmed. The month prior to her arrival, I asked her to please cancel her reservation and find another suitable property, out of consideration to me and other guests interested in booking for those dates, but she did not. Instead, she had a family member call me to convince me to keep her reservation, which I did against my gut feeling, and that clearly backfired. Although the issue with the cleaning was outside of my control, I did what I could to rectify the situation. There was a mix up on the cleaning staff’s calendar and the apartment was not ready when she arrived. As soon as I became aware of the this, I did everything possible to resolve the situation and quickly refunded her the cleaning fee (without her asking). Once I was able to get the cleaning staff to go over, she said it was no longer necessary and told me everything was fine and they were enjoying the place very much.

Amazing morning views

This property was perfect for our family of four. The apartment was clean and welcoming. My favorite part of the apartment had to be the balcony (I had coffee ☕️ out there every morning) and the bed was so comfy! I would definitely stay here again!

Great location and host

Wonderful location, closed to ferry terminal and easy access to fabulous beaches. Gus was very responsive and we were able to check in early. Place was clean, hot water on point and AC was working so well we had to turn off because we got cold LOL. I highly recommend.

Location is everything!

It is our 2nd stay in this property. Even when some areas of the property are outdated, the location beats any discomfort. Gustavo is a great host and always is available for any question. This time we found that the living room’s ceiling fan was not functioning and some of the apt basics (dishsoap, paper towel, basic soaps & shampoo) were not available. I understand these are details that can be fixed very easily. If you ask me if I would stay again, I would respond: “Definitely!”

Best Place to stay in Culebra!

This property offers a great, central location , has spectacular views , and is absolutely charming:) there are plenty of places within walking distance - market , bakery , restaurants, and the ferry. We asked Gustavo for some recommendations on where to go and he was incredibly helpful! Check out Zoni Beach and go to susies and dinghy dock for some great food . I definitely recommend renting a golf cart to cruise around the island on and be able to check out all the beautiful beachs:)

Perfect location for food and for fun

I brought my grown children with me to visit Culebra. It was my fourth trip to the island , it was their first. I chose Coral Cove for our place to stay. Overall, I was very happy with the apartment. The interior was fine; I was say it was above average for residences on the island. There was always a strong breeze blowing in off of the harbor, and we were within easy walking distance to numerous restaurants and grocery stores. There was a reserved parking spot outside the apartment, so our little golf cart always had a place. I felt like the area was perfectly safe, though I am sure everyone quickly identified us as tourists! The best part of this apartment is the view. From the balcony we overlooked the Culebra harbor, the public boat dock, and the restaurant Dingy Dock. It was a great place to relax, eat dinner, and watch the yachts come and go. The only problem I had was that one boat that was docked on the public boat dock ran an electric line to a generator that was place just under our balcony. The owner ran the loud generator about 8 hours a day, mostly at night. When the generator was off, the balcony was the perfect spot. When it was on, the balcony was loud and annoying. I tried to communicate with the owner, but my Spanish isn’t very good, And I didn’t want to be the ugly American and call the police and have them involved. So at night, instead of leaving the doors open and enjoying the Caribbean breeze, we closed them and turned on the AC. Overall I would recommend this apartment, but not sure I would stay there again if knew about the generator noise.

Thank you for staying at Coral Cove! We are sorry about the generator noise that diminished your enjoyment of the balcony. We were unaware of the situation until you texted us. We promptly answered and suggested that the proper action was to file a complaint with the police for ‘Disturbing the Peace’. Since we don't live in Culebra, we couldn't address the situation immediately. As a solution, we provided the telephone and the address of the police station, which is within walking distance from the apartment. This involved a third party and as you mentioned in your text, being a public dock, it was "outside of our control". The complaint would have been the correct and best option, especially since your communication with the boat owner was unsuccessful due to the language barrier. With no complaint filed, no results. Since you alerted us of the noise, we are working to resolve the issue permanently and as soon as possible.

Why they chose this property

We had been going to Culebra for over 30 years and rented in different locations. We walked down this street previously to sit and watch the bay, especially when the moon was full. There used to be a big, old wooden house in a corner and we would dream of buying it and building there. When we saw the house had been torn down and 6 apartments were being built there we jumped at the chance of having a corner in Paradise!

What makes this property unique

We bought the apartment in 2003 and every time we go we fall in love once again with the view (from all rooms) and the sea breeze that constantly flows thorough the apartment. We love the fact that it is in town, near everything and yet not busy because it is in a dead-end street and faces the sea. You'll loose all sense of time once you get there!
