Railroading runs deep in our veins at The Depot. My father was a second generation railroader and train engineer, and worked on one the last operating steam engines in the United States here in the Williamson Railroad Yard. My parents built this house in 1959 and lived here their entire lives. Our house is spacious 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom ranch-style one level home. We have a large open kitchen/family room with pub table, full size couch/ chair, and lift chair. Large separate formal living room/dining room. Both bedrooms offer queen size beds. The third bedroom is an office/bedroom space with a queen size Murphy bed. There are 2 full size baths, one with a shower, and the other with a tub/shower combo. We have a patio with outdoor dining/umbrella table. Also, a covered side porch with a table and chairs provides an area for smokers, as we don't allow smoking inside our house. There is also a covered front porch with seating. Special discounted rates are available for weekly and monthly long term stays. Our house is not appropriate for trail riders as we do not have parking facilities for trail riders- trailers, SxS, ATV’s, etc. See Additional Amenities for more information.

Our mom grew up in Williamson and she recently passed away. We came to visit as a Mother's Day tribute to her and to celebrate her life. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay! The house was spotless and knowing it was originally the owners parents home made it that much more special. Anything we could have needed was at our fingertips. Defintely accommodating in every way. If our travels bring us back to Williamson in the future, we'll definitely book the house again!

About the host
Hosted by Suzanne Robinette
We are originally from the Mingo and Pike County areas. We began hosting in 2019 in Pittsburgh with our row house in the Strip District- Matt’s Place In The Strip, and added Suzanne’s Cottage By The Sea on Oak Island, NC in 2021. We are currently preparing to open Rusty’s Retreat, on Sugar Mountain, NC. We enjoy sharing our homes with others and meeting/ talking with the people who rent them. We like our guests to feel like they are in their “home away from home” and welcome while they’re there.
Why they chose this property
Our house and neighborhood is centrally located to hospitals, pharmacies, doctors offices, shopping and restaurants. We are walking distance to downtown Williamson.
What makes this property unique
My parents built this house in 1959. It was the first home in the area to have all-electric heat built into the ceilings, and a medallion placed into the sidewalk by APCO designates it as such. While the house has now been updated to central heating/ cooling, the original electric ceiling heat remains in working condition today.
