Absolutely adorable cabins!! The view of the river was beautiful. Even though we were busy at an event during the day, the evenings were very enjoyable and relaxing. Such a peaceful spot!
This place is absolutely great! No cell service, but they have wifi. Beautiful setting, I absolutely loved it, cant wait to book again for the fall color tour!!
We absolutely adored Deb’s cabin as well as Deb herself. She was easy to contact and more than accommodating for us. We will absolutely consider this location for family in the future.

Thanks for the review! Sure glad you enjoyed your trip to the UP. Your welcome any time! Deb
The property was beautiful. My kids and I absolutely loved being right on the river. For my teenage (18) son to my youngest daughter (8) it was perfect. It was great watching all my kids together playing in the river catching crawdads and frogs. It was easy to get to Marquette, Munising and Escanaba. We kept our day trips shorter so we could come back and enjoy the cabins longer. Deb was very responsive and helpful as well.

Thank you so much for choosing to stay at the cottage! I ❣️ love knowing you enjoyed your stay. Come back again 🙂
Our family had a great time at the River Cottage. It’s a small but very cozy cottage, with a bunkhouse that our kids slept in and loved. The 2 outdoor decks are great for spending time together and taking in views from the river, sunsets, stars, etc. It’s so beautiful, quiet and peaceful. Also, plenty of indoor and outdoor games to play. And Deb is so kind and thoughtful, she’s an incredible host- She made things easy and seamless for us. She even brought over a larger crockpot for my wife to use. Thank you- we were truly blessed staying at your cottage.

I'm so happy your kids loved the bunkhouse! We have played cards many nights there. It's wonderful hearing that you all enjoyed it. Come back again!
We came for a lityle getaway to relax and wind down between a busy summer and the start of our daughter's senior year. We couldn't have found a more perfect spot. Both cottages were just as described and the seperate bunkhouse was perfect for the teenagers to have their own space. The little deck over looking the river was the perfect spot to sit with a glass of wine and abook. Deb was very communicative and checked in to be sure we had everything we needed. We left a hat behind and she texted and offered to mail it back before we were even home. I can not recommend this proerty enough and if in the area again we would definitely re-book.
From the second we arrived we were amazed! This is the nicest little cabin / bunkhouse setup that we’ve stayed at ! Pulling into the property you’ll fall in love immediately with the view of the river! The interiors are decorated so tastefully with everything available for a perfect stay including outdoor chairs, corn hole, fire pit, horse shoes & more! The river itself is very shallow so perfect for wading & viewing wildlife…we saw an eagle, river otter & many osprey! Evenings are perfect for a bonfire & watching the sun set! The cabins are stocked with games, books & how nice to have access to wifi for TV & internet! And lastly, the owner was 100% accessible for any questions & very helpful! We cannot wait to return next summer!

What a wonderful message! Thank you Stacy and I'm looking forward to your future stays! 😊 you are welcome anytime
If rising to the gentle sounds of a flowing river and birds chirping is your gig, stay here. An easy 1.5 hour drive took us up to the Superior a few times, along with easy trips spur of the moment to both Gladstone and Escanaba beaches.
The Wi-Fi in the bunkhouse didn’t work which served a purposeful excuse to keep kiddos off screens and engaged in recreation.
The only downside to the property was the undrinkable well water, but Deb was fantastic at ensuring bottled water was available.
I will return next summer, as this has been the most relaxing and memorable vacation. As a military wife, I often travel alone with my two young kids. This trip has felt safe and rustic and has all the feels of being in the words without being IN the woods.
We played in the river, cornhole, giant Jenga, and had a small fire. Leaving the space will be hard as I’ve finally found some peace. Definitely recommend as a wonderful spot for tranquility.
I really like the set up of this property. Great to have two separate buildings to provide everyone with their own space. Renter beware though….I was not informed prior to arrival that the water was well water and although it was considered potable, even the owners don’t drink it. The water has a strong sulfur smell. The shower was a bit difficult to figure out how to make it now scalding hot or ice cold but I found that if you make it like warm then the temp stays steady. Just prepare for the smell of well water.
The cottage was very clean and comfortable and looks just like it is in the pictures.
The cottage owners were very receptive to our questions, and answered texts promptly.
The river was fun to wade in and catch crawdads.
The Wi-Fi worked well in the main cabin and outside of the main cabin but was a bit spotty for me in the bunkhouse.
This is a great place. If you want time away with plenty of space and beautiful views this is a great place to consider!

Nancy, I thank you again for choosing the River Cottage for your stay. I will be getting a filter for the water system to help with the smell. The bunkhouse has curtains that will keep the light out, even at night 🙂 glad you enjoyed your stay! Deb
