Secluded Mountain House on 12 acres w/ Pond! 20 min to downtown Chattanooga!
Welcome to the Sequatchie Sunset, aka the Beauty on the Bluff! This beautifully landscaped home is perched on 12 acres atop Suck Creek Mountain, and offers quiet seclusion while being only minutes away from adventure or nightlife. As the name implies, you can take in the most amazing sunsets over the Sequatchie Valley from the property.
Are you ready to ‘get away from it all’ with your family and friends? Perhaps you are a day hiker, kayaker or adventurer who likes to wind down your busy day in a lush, natural setting. Maybe you are celebrating a small family birthday, anniversary, or simply want a weekend away with friends. This is the perfect destination!
Come ‘home’ after spending an exciting day in downtown Chattanooga at the aquarium, Hunter museum, or local hot spot. If you don’t feel like getting out, take a stroll around the grounds, have a picnic under the elms around the gorgeous pond and get cozy by the fire pit. Have your camera ready to capture the breathtaking sunset on the bluff overlooking the Sequatchie Valley. Keep your eyes peeled for wild turkey and deer. End the evening in the great room with TV, games, or private time. After a peaceful night’s rest, take your morning coffee on the deck listening to the birds in the fresh mountain air.
We have 2 bedrooms and a large loft area that in total comfortably sleeps up to 8 people. We have wifi, a large flat screen TV in the great room, and an assortment of family-friendly games. The full kitchen features cook/bakeware, and a few appliances such as an electric kettle, blender, ice maker, and dual k-Pod/ground coffee maker. Please note: due to the windy nature of the bluff, we do not currently have an outdoor grill.
Our property includes a large pond with an adjacent green space that features a picnic table and fire pit. There are gravel utility roads that you can hike down (at your own risk) to check out the unique topography of the bluff, and experience a sunset.
NOTE: Full house manual is uploaded in 'rental agreement' section. Please take a look as you will learn more of the property's history as well as safety information, map of property and *parking diagram*. Note: Park only at designated markers, not under trees. No ATV's are allowed to be driven on the property. Please note that the property contains several large rock drop offs, with one being directly off the swing area of the house. Utmost caution and awareness of one's surroundings is necessary, especially in regards to small children. Also note, as you can see from the pictures there are 2 flights of steps and a landing that access the house from the parking area. There is also a ramp on the opposite side of the house, but it is not accessible for a wheelchair.

About the host
Hosted by Erin and Richard
My husband and I are from Georgia, but we have always had the mountains in our hearts.
We are lovers of nature and are drawn to the beauty and solitude the mountains provide. I am an artist/art teacher and Richard is an arborist. These leanings can be seen in our choices of decor, landscaping, etc. Our property reflects our passion and respect for nature, and we are excited to share this slice of heaven with others!
I welcome any questions you may have, so please reach out any time. I would love for you to experience the Sequatchie Sunset, aka the Beauty on the Bluff, for yourself!
What makes this property unique
Our property stands out from others in several ways. While there are other properties nearby that sit on the bluff, we can boast the fact that we are perched on 12 acres that can be hiked/strolled upon. In addition, there is a large pond that Richard built, that can be fished and (for those so inclined) swum in. The house is spacious enough for a small family or friend gathering, and the A-frame design of the house and its orientation to the west provides both natural views as well as an amazing vantage point from which to take in sunsets over the valley. We are the only house on our road, which provides an appreciable amount of privacy.
