I appreciate the responsiveness of the host when answering questions before booking and during out stay. The house was nice, being an old house that has been renovated. It was overall clean, but could benefit from a deep clean (e.g., dusty baseboards). We also had to wash the sheets when we arrived. They were visibly clean, but had a funny smell. The location was perfect- easy access to tge Highlands, Nulu, and downtown.
The property was recently renovated. It’s an older house that has characteristics of an older house. Things aren’t top of the line but is good enough for the basic needs. The bathroom upstairs is a unique one that’s for sure but it functions and serves the purpose. Bedrooms are as advertised. The kitchen is nice and has what you would need.
Th backyard isn’t anything extravagant but is good enough to sit and relax.
We had an issue with some of the lights not working. Was able to get in touch with the property manager and eventually got the issue solved.
The area is definitely in the process of a “come up.” Just not all the way there yet. Lots of things are in the process of being gentrified and re-purposed.
We walked up to Baxter street (2 minute walk) where there are tons of great local places to go and explore. Highly recommend O’Shea’s. There wasn’t a bad place we went to. Great scene and great service as well.
Overall I’d say this is a good place to lay your head and has the basics for what you need.
We had quite a few problems with our stay. Most significantly, the listing for number of bed is incorrect. The listing details three rooms, 2 of which are supposed to contain 2 queen beds, 1 of which was supposed to contain 2 bunk beds. In reality, it was 2 rooms with 1 queen each and 1 room with 1 bunk bed. Someone had to sleep on the couch and for the price of this listing it is less than expected and not as advertised.
Next, the queen bed in the upstairs was a mattress directly on a frame that is supposed to have a box spring: it was not a platform bed frame and not designed to support a mattress. The frame collapsed with one adult sleeping on it, and the mattress had to be placed on the floor.
Less importantly: one of the stair treads at the top is half missing and presents a significant trip hazard as the stairs are quite off level anyway. Someone left a needle I presume to be used in one of the upstairs bedroom closets. The needle was covered so was not hazardous but definitely not a good sign. Also there is black mold in the shower.
The host did not reply to attempts at contact to resolve our issues.

Dear Micah,
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I sincerely apologize for the issues you experienced during your stay. It’s clear that we fell short in several areas, and I appreciate you bringing these matters to my attention.
I’m sorry for the confusion regarding the sleeping arrangements and for any discomfort this caused your group. We will review the listing to ensure it accurately reflects the number of beds and rooms available.
I also want to extend my apologies for the condition of the upstairs queen bed and for the issues with the stair treads. Your safety and comfort are our top priorities, and we will address these problems immediately.
The presence of the needle and the mold in the shower are both unacceptable, and I assure you we will take action to rectify these concerns right away.
I apologize for any lack of communication from my side during your stay. We strive to provide prompt responses to our guests, and I’m sorry this was not your experience.
Thank you again for your valuable feedback. We hope to improve and provide a much better experience for future guests.
