This is a charming little float house in excellent condition with everything you need for comfort. The listing emphasizes peacefulness but we are from this area so we know it as a bustling social hub. The locals come enjoy speed boats and pubs and there a freight train every ten minutes. We enjoyed walking to the sports bar and waving at the other river rats boating nearby.

Fisherman’s Paradise

Little house on the water with fishing right off the deck. Food is close and nice views. Trains go by in other side of river, but no whistles and it ends up being soothing.

Float your cares away!

Need to getaway? Whether you’re a local or a out of town-er, the cottages at River Harbor are the perfect place to float your cares away! We found our cottage to be very clean and had all that we needed for a relaxing getaway. Did I mention that they are on the river!!! Floating on the river to be exact! What a perfect place! There are several restaurants within walking distance. It’s dreamy. We sat in the floating deck and took in the sights…boats passing and trains. A really neat experience. Our host Patricia was friendly, easy to communicate with and accommodating. We plan to return one day.

Maybe great for some, ended badly for us.

I will try to be as fair as I can here with our review. The house is absolutely gorgeous sitting on a no wake zone of the beaver river. We had previously taken 3 trips to the marina without too much problems. The owners always seemed to have a little anxiety with us launching on their ramp. The first trip was a day trip that we gladly paid the $50 transient dock fee and was told that they let me "slide" by using their ramp. 2nd visit was an overnight trip that once again, we gladly paid the transient fee. 3rd trip, we launched down river, gladly spent $50 for a transient slip, just to pick up friends. (Probably spent 2 1/2 hours in a slip. Skip to this past weekend, we rented this place(literally a floating dock) and was told after we got there it would be an additional $200 for a dock slip? I've rented a lot of lake houses over the years, and quite a few campgrounds on the water. They've been called courtesy slips? Could have been forewarned, or added into the cost. Not our personality at all, but ended in a heated fight and we left. So.... nice place, but we wont be back.

Eric and his girlfriend yelled and screamed at property manager. After asking them to calm down and we went into the beautiful cottage the renters continue to yell. The property owner meet with them before checking in to explain they reservated a cottage not a dock slip. Explain the cost to use ramp and dock slip. again to pay but never did. Saturday morning property owner asked for payment. No payment was made and Eric and his girlfriend was asked to leave. Property Owner agree to refund one night stay minus the dock fee for the time in occupy the slip. Marina facilities and cottage is run and managed separately. All this was discussed before boat was launched and cottage was occupied for the weekend. Conversation about slip rental was prior to occupancy at 6-22-23 around 2:00pm according to our cameras. Customer still proceeded with taking occupancy of cottage and was shown where his boat slip would be at the marina.
