This was the *most* perfect spot for our group's weekend getaway. It was so centrally located that we were able to stop to drop off our purchases, change for dinner, or do anything we needed to without having to account for drive time or parking. It was so convenient!! Everyone had their own space, but often met in the large kitchen and dining area for meals. The hot tub was a wonderful way to unwind after a long day of exploring. We had some technical issues with the sound system/tv, but the host was very responsive and got us squared away. The building is really interesting, and it's massive but decorated beautifully with lots of interesting items - definitely a unique lodging experience. We would absolutely come back and stay here again.

This place is just excellent! The host made it incredibly easy for all of us to and the arrival was perfect. This was a group of six women and we were all incredibly comfortable with the various bedrooms and the amazing kitchen, fireplace and hot tub. Plus the location is absolutely perfect. We were there for the film festival and could not have been easier. I cannot recommend this wonderful location and apartment more strongly.

An all round great stay--the bomb!

We really appreciated the creative space, spacious kitchen and gathering area, convenient location on the edge of town, the spa and . . . everything! We enjoyed a sibling reunion and loved it so much we expect to be back for another visit. Also, the communication with the host was superb--so appreciate the quick and supportive responses whenever we reached out. We were a bit mystified upon arrival that we had the wrong space but once we got through the front door, it became very clear we were in for a special stay. The amazing collectables and art made us wish we could meet the owner and have a conversation about their adventures :)

Magical Stay at the Downtown Goldmine

Our family’s 4 day stay at the Downtown Goldmine was beyond our expectations, in the best way! This gorgeous home was spacious and comfortably accommodating for our family of 7 adults and 2 teens. Everything from the luxurious bedding, the amazing jacuzzi, ping pong game room, to the comfortable sofa & media options were fantastic! The open floor plan with a huge dining table allowed our large group to not only be together comfortably in one large area, but plenty of personal space to retreat quietly. The decor was exquisite, leaving us all wanting to know the stories behind so many intriguing artifacts! We were in town for a family wedding, and the location of this home was right in the heart of the darling town of Nevada City, making it easy to be close to the wedding venue, as well as a variety of superb eating venues and nighttime entertainment. I can’t say enough about this home and all it has to offer. Trust me to say, the photos are just a snippet of a truly incredible home and location!! The host, Jon Conger, communicated everything we needed to know with ease and expediency. We are frequent travelers and this home/experience was first class in every way. Thank you, John, for everything! We have wonderful memories to cherish!

The Gold Mine is an Excellent place to stay! Completely exceeded our expectations! It's a unique layout with 5 private bedrooms throughout the large property! The home is in a perfect central location in Nevada City! Walking distance to everything and ample parking. The kitchen, dining and great room are REALLY GREAT! Perfect for a group to come together and hang out. The TV's are ginormous and the gourmet kitchen is state of the art! Having a hot tub, sauna, BBQ, and cold plunge is amazing! There is not only this outdoor area but there is a balcony. Just beautiful! John is an amazing host! He answers his phone day or night and is helpful and kind! We had the pleasure of meeting John and he couldn't be nicer! Feels like a friend you've known for some time! It's my pleasure to write this heartfelt review but selfishly I hope his place is available for our future stay after people read this!! My family is definitely coming back!! We booked this for a wedding. We had 7 adults and 2 children and it was perfect! Beds were comfortable, the bathrooms well appointed! There is NOTHING I would change at this property!
