Great property with ac and heat and also wood burn stove! Big rooms nice beds, fantastic for groups of at least 12 people. Nice outside deck, pool table and ping pong! Everything clean. Bring ziplock bags though as there is nothing to store unused food. Easy hike to river but check for ticks after hike - had a couple.
Nice relaxing beautiful mountain atmosphere. The house was perfect for our family. Lots of deer and wild turkeys to watch. Plenty of bedrooms and other areas to be together or for some alone time.
We had a great time. Perfect for an extended family gathering, lots of activities to keep everyone entertained on the property as well as surrounding area. Deck offers a wonderful view and spot for morning coffee.
The homestead was a perfect home base for our large group getaway. It was clean, spacious and close to the river and town. Will definitely be back and recommend this to anyone looking for a relaxing place with plenty of outdoor activities.
This property was perfect for our family Christmas. Beautiful all around. The home was cozy and roomy at the same time. Well decorated and everything we needed was there. Plenty of rooms for everyone and the game room was a big hit! Would love to stay here again in the summer.
Roomy, well equipped home with amazing trails and views. Watched the wild turkeys and deer wonder about. The deck overlooking the changing fall trees in the canyon was magical.
Perfect property for our family gathering! House was great for accommodating multiple family groups. Loved the big dining room table for bringing folks together. The property has great hiking trails (although you need to watch out for poison oak). Alicia and Michael were very helpful giving us the info we needed to get the most out of our stay. Michael even provided a bike tour of the trails for our groups' mountain bikers. Lots of wildlife--even an early morning bear sighting (from a very safe distance). Definitely a terrific trip.
Homestead at Yuba Retreat was a beautiful setting and a very relaxing environment. The house easily accommodated 2 small children and 7 adults with separate spaces for everyone.
We enjoyed our family gathering and hiking trails to the creek. Overgrowth of poison oak meant close supervision of younger kids was required.

Jennifer,
So glad you enjoyed your stay! Poison oak is the unfortunate companion of the beautiful Sierra Nevada mountains. We work to keep it completely cleared from our 15-miles of trails but can't clear it from the forest. Look forward to hosting you and your family again! -Alicia
Family had a great time. Kids had so much fun without internet ( choosing not to give the kids password) and was surprise they were all sad it was time to go. Really great space.

Hi-

This place was amazing! We had a very large group and had everything we needed. There were well maintained walking trails, plenty of chairs and areas to sit and enjoy the outdoors, and a wide variety of games and activities for ALL ages available (indoor and outdoor). Alicia, our host, was super helpful. If I could give this place 10 stars, I would!
Plenty of space and beds for all the grown ups in our group! We cooked amazing meals in the roomy kitchen and ate at the big dining table. We hiked around the beautiful trails and found the Moss house. The dog run was spacious and perfect for a 3yr old chocolate lab. We can’t wait to come back.

Third Annual Retreat
We keep coming back. There are enough rooms, a large table for working, and separate areas where people can do different events. Being able to use two kitchen areas is helpful.

Great weekend with friends
This is a wonderful place to get away from it all. All the rooms are of great size and multiple gathering rooms. Sitting on front porch you see and abundance of wildlife. Lots of games to play and the observation deck over the canyon is delightful. Hope to visit again. Only disappointment was BBQ was out of propane as was the backup in the garage.

Hi,
I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay at the retreat and visits from the neighborhood deer. We were happy we could accommodate your family's request for an early check-in. We always strive to have two full propane tanks for our guests, and we double-check every time before a guest's arrival. We live two minutes away and provide our phone number for any issues that might arise, so I would encourage you to just give us a ring if you have any questions during your next visit. -Alicia
We loved the hiking trails and the little creek/waterfall just off the property. Very lovely patio area in front of the house with gorgeous view of the hills. Kids loved exploring. We found the home to be large enough, though pots and pans/kitchen accessories like dishwasher need updating and difficult to use. We had difficulty using some rooms (downstairs area can only be accessed via a bedroom) though we were able to make it work. Of note, the road to the property is relatively twisty so those with motion sickness should be forewarned.

Thank you so much for your thoughtful review and for choosing to stay with us! We're so glad to hear that you and your family enjoyed the hiking trails, the creek and waterfall, and the beautiful views from the patio—it really is a special place to explore and unwind.
We appreciate your feedback regarding the kitchen items and layout. We're always looking for ways to improve the guest experience!
You're absolutely right about the road—while it offers beautiful scenery and is just 10 minutes from downtown Nevada City, it can be a bit winding.
Thanks again for staying with us and sharing your experience. We'd love to welcome you back in the future!
Warm regards, Alicia
This property was the perfect place for our wedding party to stay. We got married in the area, and this house was nearly big enough to accommodate all of us.
My only comment would be to possibly have more trash bags available to the guests, maybe under the kitchen sink? While completing the checkout list, taking all the trash to the big trash cans would have been easier if there were more large trash bags available.
Overall, great stay! Thanks!

This house fit our needs perfectly, with separation between children and adults. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. The house was in an area that provided hikes and seclusion. The property manager was very responsive to needs and questions, and we had no problems. We would definitely come back. Thank you.
