Don't forget the outdoor fire pit that overlooks Lake Erie (firewood provided).
Outdoor Space
Our home is located on a 5 acre+ lot surrounded by trees with a large, grassy backyard perfect for outdoor games. The firepit area overlooks hills and grape vineyards with Lake Erie in the distance. The expansive deck wraps around two sides of the house and has plenty of room to gather with a hot tub, gas grill, multiple dining areas, a gas fire table, seating and a pergola. Steps coming down from the deck lead to the large pond where you'll find tons of bullfrogs, sunfish and bass (catch and release fishing is allowed).
Lower Level
The lower entrance level has 3 bedrooms that share a full bath. The first has a queen bed and a gas fireplace. Next to this is another bedroom with queen bed and pretty view of the smaller pond and finally there is a large bedroom with a queen and a double bed.
Upper Level
As you go up the stairs, you’ll come to a large living room with huge windows overlooking the pond, a wood-burning fireplace, TV and a wet bar. On this level, we have a mini-split A/C system that cools the great room and main bedroom and another mini-split system cooling the dining/kitchen/loft area. In the living room cabinets, we have games, puzzles and toys for kids.
You'll have plenty of room to prepare and enjoy great meals in the open kitchen/dining area. We have the kitchen stocked with cookware and cooking basics and a grill is just outside the sliding door. In nice weather, enjoy your meal at the tables outside on the wrap-around deck.
A full bath with shower and jetted tub is located off of the kitchen next to the laundry area that is stocked for guest us.
The primary bedroom with king bed and en-suite bathroom is also on this level and features a huge bay window looking out to the woods and sliding doors out to the deck.
Lofts
The house feels even more spacious with the added loft spaces. Overlooking the living room is a large loft with a sitting area with full sleeper sofa and a cute bedroom tucked under the eaves with two single beds and its own a/c unit. You'll find another loft space above the dining room with lounge space and a TV and an office nook with desk.
You’ll have the entire home to yourself during your stay.

This is a perfect property for a large group with plenty of space. We also appreciated the amenities in every room including toiletries, kitchen supplies and coffee. The property was beautiful during our stay with plenty of snow over the holiday. Tiffany is an excellent host who responds very quickly to inquiries and ensures her guests enjoy their stay. 5 out of 5 stars from all 10 of us who stayed there!
Perfect property for our extended-family stay during a wedding weekend! The house had everything we needed, the host was great on communication, and the property is beautiful.
Lovely home with a beautiful yard and plenty to do. Enjoyed the hot tub, ping pong table and family cooking in the well stocked kitchen. Would highly recommend.
This home was amazing! Everyone in our party was very pleased with the amenities at this home. Host was very welcoming and very quick to respond to any questions we had! We hope to stay here in the future! 5 stars!
We had a fantastic stay at this property. Plenty of creature comforts to make it a home away from home. Tiffany was great. The location was perfect. I would stay at this property again.
Home is lovely and the owners pride in their property clearly shows. We enjoyed all the personal touches including the s'mores welcome kit. We will certainly rent again when we come to visit family.
Wonderful stay, beautiful location. Visited for a single overnight, but wish we could have stayed longer. Would stay again.

Exceptional property! Communication was instant. One of the best properties I have ever stayed at. Had everything you could want in a stay. Property was spotless and breath taking!
What a great 5 days @ S portage. Family gathering to remember & celebrate our beloved “CT”. cant say enough about the house but for our family it was the deck & backyard. Cooked & slept inside but most of our time was spent on the deck and at the firepit. Coffee in the morn to fires and lots of drinks out at the firepit.
My group loved just about everything about the stay at Portage Ponds! Our long weekend did give us enough time to experience all the amenities the property offered. It is some place we would definitely return to! Lol, the only downside was the creaky wooden stairs that may have interrupted a couple of lighter sleepers who crashed earlier than the rest of the group!
This place was everything we expected and more! Tiffany and Chris were amazing hosts! They were always available to answer any questions if needed! The pictures did not do justice to the place! As beautiful as the pictures were, in person the place was so much better than we expected! I highly recommend this property to anyone who needs a peaceful getaway!
Thrilled with our stay at Portage Ponds this weekend. The house is comfortably and thoughtfully furnished, and the additional touches of the s'mores bar and the firewood helped make the weekend feel special. The property more than lived up to the pictures and, although we kept together on our short weekend, there are enough different spaces on the property to allow a group to spread out a bit. Our group occupied four of the five bedrooms and everyone commented how comfortable their rooms were. Looking forward to returning.
This is an absolutely beautiful property! Not only is it in a fantastic location, the owners have thought of everything that would make staying here a comfortable and relaxing experience. The little extra touches didn't go unnoticed and truly added to our experience. It is obvious that they take great pride in their property and put a lot of thought and effort into providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere for their visitors. Our family had a wonderful time and would definitely love to come back for future stays. Thank you so much!

Thanks for your very kind words, Tami! We absolutely love hosting amazing guests like you and your family.
This one checked all the boxes for our group. Beautiful home that is spacious inside and out, and big table to gather around. Property was clean and comfortable. Never got a chance to have a wood stove fire or campfire. Maybe next time.
Our family came together from both the East and the West to celebrate Thanksgiving. The house was very well cared for and the lay out was perfect for our large group. Chris and Family really made a effort to welcome us to their home. We got over four feet of snow across three days and it was still coming down when we left. The hot tub was even more special hanging out in the evening and mornings with all the snow coming down. Chris and his family kept on checking on us making sure everything was plowed out and that we had the ability to run to the store with all the snow. All of our family agreed beyond a doubt that we would stay with Chris. Thank you again for making this such an awesome weekend!!!!
Blew our expectations out of the water, the property was fantastic, it was great for the amount of people we had, it seemingly has space for pets, a loft-space for younger kids and plenty of room for everyone. Activities abound for all types of people, multiple areas to relax in, a view of the lake as well as the pond on the property, maybe a place to hookup a zipline? We almost completed the 1000 pc playing card puzzle, but it was quite difficult.Pictures did not do the property justice. It was well worth the stay and we expect to make a return trip for another weekend. We took a trip to Southern Tier just down the road, a day at Peak n' Peak, and overall around Chataqua. We wish we brought sleds for the hill in the back, or even a tent for some ice fishing 3 miles down the road at Chataqua. But that's next trip.In the winter, expect snow, the town had 142 inches of Snow in early Feb. Bring AWD, even tho the property owners sent a plow to clear the drive, if you get melting and it refreezes, it is probably needed. It's a slight hill to get back on the main road. Great place to have fun and take a vacation. 11/10 Recommended.
Rented home for NYE with my husband, our children and their spouses, along with our three young grandchildren and we couldn’t have asked for a better stay! From the moment we walked in, with the warm and inviting feeling, to the spacious size of the house, with plenty of room for privacy. The cleanliness was also spot on. The house offered a fully stocked kitchen just like home. Bathrooms offered plenty of linens plus personal items for your use. Bedrooms were cozy and comfortable. The large living room fireplace was such a plus during the Lake Effect Snow Warning we had during our stay. With tons of firewood provided, we enjoyed a roaring fire the entire time. It gave such warmth and comfort! The outside property was large and well maintained. The back yard area with rolling grounds provided a ton of winter fun for the adventurers to sled and build a snowman during the storm. The family also loved the use of the hot tub during the snow fall and 20 degree outside temps. A great plus were the soft comfy beach towels provided to wrap up in when stepping out from the hot tub. This place had it all! It was a home away from home! Tiffany, the host, was by far amazing! She was proficient in her assistance with the few things we needed help with. She answered her phone immediately and never once made us feel like a burden. We had a wonderful celebration welcoming in the new year and would highly recommend this home for your stay!

Thanks for your kind words, Sheryl! We're so happy your family had a great New Year's celebration at our house!
We had a wonderful time at this beautiful property. There was plenty of room for our large group of 9 adults and 5 children. Tiffany was so helpful with ideas for children’s activities during our stay as it was spring time and things were just starting to open up in the area. The well stocked children’s play room was a big hit too! Great memories were made here!! Thank you so much.
