We had a nice stay, and Kim is a great host. The views from the cabin and the deck are awesome. We enjoyed sipping our wine and enjoying the solitude while sitting out on the deck. The unit is very well outfitted with anything you could need, and everything is in top shape. It's a short drive into town and there are tons of beautiful back country drives in the area, including Weston Pass that is right outside the development.

About the host
Hosted by Kim Ries
Born and raised in North Dakota, Gordy and Kim moved to the Denver area in 1979. They have enjoyed many years of backpacking, skiing, climbing 14ers, snowshoeing, fishing, and raising their two children to do the same. Over the years, we had rented VRBOs offered by others until finally in 2023 we had a chance to pool our money with our kids and their spouses and purchase this mountain house for an investment.
Being a VRBO host is new to us, and we're trying to do our best to manage it ourselves. Please do not hesitate to let us know how we're doing.
Why they chose this property
The view from this home is absolutely incredible, and the peaceful quiet is absolutely calming. The stocked fishing ponds (you don't need a fishing license to fish them) are a bonus in teaching the grandkids how to catch fish on their own. Maybe someday we'll all graduate to fly fishing the streams in the area. In addition, this community has lots of wildlife that visits, including Mountain Bluebirds nesting in the birdhouses hanging from the trees in the backyard, and the hummingbirds flitting around the feeder hanging on the upstairs deck.
