Moonrise Mountain House, Catskills Ski Retreat

Perfect for a ski weekend, wedding or family reunion, this serene home has amazing mountain views and plenty of room for everyone. Enjoy the serenity of our 9 wooded acres surrounded by amazing Catskill culture, great restaurants and coffee nearby.

For the skiers we are 8 minutes from Plattekill Mountain and 20 from Belleayre!

Cozy up by the fire or enjoy your coffee on the deck overlooking the mountains. Catch a glimpse of a bald eagle or the rising moon. Beautiful hikes right out the door and swimming holes abound in this Roxbury hamlet.

The main floor has two bedrooms and two baths. The attic is a large space with a king bed and two twins and a half bath. The basement has a second living room, a half bath and another bedroom with trundle bed and fold out futon and its own heat thermostat.

The main floor has a fireplace that keeps things very toasty and a deck with amazing views of the valley and mountains.

We had a wonderful weekend stay at the Moonrise Mountain House. The location is ideal for touring the Catskills. The house had everything we needed for cooking, and the host was very accessible for questions.

Moonrise was in a beautiful peaceful location surrounded by the mountains. Accommodations were great and very comfortable with fantastic views. We were in Roxbury for a wedding and shared Moonrise with 2 other couples.

Ski weekend in Roxbury

We had a great time at Moonrise Mountain House. The owners were easy to communicate with and the house was as advertised. Beautiful views and a welcoming atmosphere. Would definitely go back!

Lovely mountain retreat!

Our group of friends had a relaxing time at this cozy house. We enjoyed the great views, the fireplace, the game room, and the well stocked kitchen. Would stay again!

Absolutely beautiful

We had a great stay here. Location was great, close enough to restaurants and stores but far enough away from everything. So relaxing here and views are amazing. Hosts were fantastic, answered our questions extremely quickly and they were so nice and helpful. Would definitely stay here again.

Enjoyable Relaxing Stay

Great space and very clean. It was a little tricky finding the house at night but check in was a breeze. Instructions for the home are clear and communication with Naya was great. We stayed here becuase it is only 10 minutes to Plattekill mountain.

Amazing time

We went there a group of friends with kids and have an amazing time there. The house is gorgeous, really big , the views amazing and all the stuff that you need you can find in the house. I really recommend this house.

Great stay

Our family had great Christmas and New Year vacation at Moonrise House. We loved preparing our meals at the kitchen with a beautiful bay window overlooking the front yard, and spending our evenings at the gorgeous fireplace.The house is close to Plattekill ski slope where there are great trails and no long lines to the lift. Thank you Naya and Muni for your hospitality.

Very nice house

The house is comfortable and well taken care of. Would appreciate better direction to house, as there are a couple of forks in the access road that need marking of some sort. Currently, there are a few very deep ruts and potholes on the road in that need attention.

AMAZING CATSKILLS RETREAT

Even though the late May weekend was cool and rainy , our family enjoyed this beautiful Catskills home and surrounding areas like Mine Kill State Park falls. Many hiking trails, small shops, pubs and restaurants like the the Roxbury Old Mill were impressive and fun. Naya, the host was very friendly, responsive and always helpful. The views were outstanding, which allowed us to see a full, bright rainbow from the deck. More than enough space for a family of 6 adults and 2 children. We would love to return for another stay at this Catskills retreat. A note for others, the first day, be sure to read the book in the welcome basket with the wine and yummy popcorn; a very informative book for your stay. We thank you again, Naya for being a great host!!!!

Family Stay for Sons Wedding at the Roxbury Barn and Estates

Not sure where to begin with my stay but from the beginning to the end it was a fairy tale !!! We arrived at the home with a bottle of wine a bag of popcorn and a welcoming letter! A beautiful and roomy home for my family of 10 to be completely comfortable in .Waking up in the morning to the most beautiful view of mountains and peace and tranquility. The owners of the home were very respective and would recommended this home to all!!! Don’t even think twice about staying it was a beautiful part of my fairy tale weekend of my son and new daughters wedding day !!!!!

We spent a very relaxing month at Moonrise Mountain House. The property is beautiful and private, but what sets this house apart is the outstanding view! Naya was very responsive and we had no problem accessing the house as planned via lockbox. The master bed is very comfortable as are the sheets/comforter etc. We made many meals in the kitchen and it is well equipped with everything you will need for cooking and baking.It was quite hot and the AC worked very well. Some of the furnishings are a bit dated and the living room sofa/loveseat are well loved and have passed their prime. Also, there are a few stairs that you must climb to get on the deck the enters the house that may be a challenge for someone who has a mobility issue. Overall, we had a very memorable time and would love to return to see the fall leaves.

Girls Get Away

The house was perfect! Well-stocked kitchen, open floor plan, comfy beds, and lots of fun outdoorsy activities in the area. The listing mentions 3 bathrooms all with shower only. This is not accurate. The master bath has a great jacuzzi tub, which was awesome after a day of snowshoeing. The other main floor bath has a shower and there are two half baths, one on upper level and another on lower level. All in all a wonderful space for our getaway. Host was very responsive and property is is great shape.

Why they chose this property

I love the winding roads and little towns full of character and fun finds. Flea markets and farmers markets and swimming holes are just a few of my favorite things. Not to mention the delicious food and wines! Local restaurants and distilleries dot the landscape, there's plenty to explore.

What makes this property unique

Our place is private and wooded but with amazing views. We regularly have bald eagles flying by our deck. We also have a lot of room for several families which makes a week away fun and affordable.
