Remote, quiet and relaxing getaway!We live in Florida but our adult children are in NH. We had all we needed to enjoy some family time. We appreciated the ‘welcome gift’ which included some snacks and a bottle of wine. The property manager was available and responsive.

Great chalet convenient to Lake Winnipesaukee but without the crowds!

The Chalet was great and as described. The house was very clean and had everything we needed to enjoy our week at Locke Lake. Very close to two lake beaches and a very quick drive or bike ride to the pools. Fishing was great at the dam. The house is only about 30 min from Weir's Beach and Wolfeboro which make for great day trips! Mary was very communicative throughout the entire process and checked in on us midweek. Loved sitting on the front deck and looking at the lake across the street. Also was really great to have our dog with us. He had a blast swimming at dog island and the boat launch! We couldn't recommend Mary's chalet enough. We had a fantastic week of swimming, fishing and perfect weather.

Disappointing - Don't Do It!

I am usually very positive but just can't hold my tongue on this one. Owner was very accommodating and let us check in early. I was confused about pet policy and by the time it was clarified I got hit with a 100 fee payable direct to the owner for "extra cleaning". I paid it. My pet is a 5lb short hair Chihuahua. Beds and couch are very uncomfortable. Side deck was covered with pine needles. Nearest beach to house is loaded with clams in swim area that are very tough on the feet. Pool was very nice. Lawn was over 6" tall and had not been mowed recently.We left a full day early. Then, I got a pic from the owner claiming we put a hole in the wall. My family said not us and it was there when we got there. That was "The straw the broke the camels back"...Now I am getting a bill from VRBO for 300 without agreeing to pay the fee.

Why they chose this property

Locke Lake Colony was extremely attractive to us because of its beauty and amenities. It is fantastic to be able to choose from a variety of beaches, pools, and picnic areas. There is bocci, cornhole, volleyball, pickleball, tennis, golf, etc! Hiking is nearby, as is all Lake Winnipesaukee has to offer!

What makes this property unique

The property is literally minutes away from the beach, has a fabulous deck, well appointed kitchen, fireplace, and beautiful airy space to hang out in!
