Guest Access:
Guests will have access to the apartment, the private downstairs porch, the assigned parking spot (A) behind the building, and the street parking across the building. Please refer to the check-in guide on the app for more details.
*Note: The downstairs apartment is in a duplex with an upstairs apartment, so we ask that the space is treated with dignity and respect. Please keep noise to a minimum and respect the quiet hours of 8pm to 8am. Parties and events are not allowed at anytime.
The Neighborhood:
You will not want to move out after staying here! Hurry and reserve your stay!
When you stay in this apartment, you will be living in some of Savannah's most desirable real estate - right in the heart of Downtown! Forsyth Park is only steps from your downtown property - simply turn right at the sidewalk, walk three blocks, and you will find yourself at the famous fountain!
Having a car is unnecessary when living here - you can walk, ride, or bike anywhere in this part of town. Convenience and grocery stores are just a few minutes' walk from the upstairs apartment - without mentioning the plethora of cafes, bars, and restaurants.
Set off East towards Collin’s Forsyth for breakfast before making your way North along Whitaker Street. Walk through each square to shop local retailers, grab a coffee or quick bite, or park yourself at a bench and just enjoy the Savannah scenery. Those in the mood for a true Southern meal will love being a stone's throw away from Mrs. Wilkes Boarding Room, with other local favorites such as 700 Drayton or Crystal Beer Parlor just a short walk from the apartment.
Popular tourist areas such as River Street and City Market are just a 20-minute walk away, while Savannah's local green space - Forsyth Park - is just three blocks from the front door.
Getting Around:
We think that walking around town is the best way to see the city!
If riding is more your speed, we are a quick and inexpensive Uber or taxi to all of the downtown attractions. The free DOT trolley picks up just a block away and runs every fifteen minutes to the Historic District too!
If you drove here, park up to one (1) car behind the building or park on one of the several free on-street parking spots in front of the building and walk or ride around Savannah.
** Note: Attention must be paid to the street sweeping schedule to avoid a parking fine when parking on the street. There are signs posted on the side of the road with sweeping times. Simply move your vehicle to a street that is not getting swept that day to avoid a ticket.
Other Things to Note:
This is a downstairs apartment and you must climb 3 steps to reach the front or back doors. You will enter the apartment using the door on the left (A).
The front or back doors do not auto-lock. Please take a moment to ensure the deadbolt is locked as you come and go. From the outside, simply press the “Schlage” oval and turn the deadbolt. Give it a tug afterward to ensure it is locked. From the inside, simply turn the deadbolt.
The parking area is found at the back of the property. It has ONE assigned parking spot for your apartment (A). This area is shared with the upstairs apartment (B), which is also allocated one parking spot. Please park in the correct parking spot. You can park any additional vehicles on the street in front of the property.
Please be aware that even though we spray for bugs on a quarterly basis, you might see palmetto bugs, wasps, and other insects during your stay. They usually come out to die, but please do your best to keep them out of the house by keeping the windows and doors shut at all times, only bringing food items to the dining room, and keeping trash in the trash can.
After a year of being idle, construction on the property next door has resumed and is expected to continue through Winter 2023. Current noise levels have not been an issue for guests, but we want to make sure you are aware as you book. But feel free to look at our reviews, as you will see, it has not impacted the stays and our guest’s experience. Noise machines and earplugs are provided to help mitigate this situation.
Interaction with Guests:
We live close by, so we are available to our guests day and night. You are welcome to reach us via the app or by calling us anytime. We are here for you!
You are set up for self-check-in. The codes and instructions will be sent to you via the app by noon on the day of your arrival. It is important that you visit the check-in guide for step-by-step instructions on how to enter the property.
You can park behind the property on your assigned spot (B) or in front of the property on the street for free. Street spaces are free and typically available on a first-come, first-served basis.
*Note: The space is pet free. Undisclosed pets will immediately terminate this agreement without the possibility of a refund. Additional fees will also be assessed ($50 per pet, per day fee + cleaning fee of $250)
