We were quite impressed with the apartment and the area. It is big enough, with a nice little balcony facing Rue Jarry. Lots of restaurants within walking distance and close to the Metro. The place was clean and overall pleasant. We would stay here again for sure.
So nice to be able to stay in a bright space in Villeray. Right next to the Dairy Queen no less :)
The bed was comfy, the water was hot, the internet was fast and reliable.
There are so many interesting cafés, boulangeries, restos near by.
Great spot. We'll be back.
Reasonable location that is 400m from Metro Jarry. 250m from an IGA. 1.8 km (25 min walk) from Jean-Talon market. It is a 2nd floor, 1br with a murphy bed in the living room.Photos accurately represented the location. Bathroom and Kitchen have been well renovated. Walls could do with a good clean or better, a new paint job as a fair amount of wear and tear is visible as well as some areas of the walls are dirty. You have everything you need, including free laundry in the basement (set a timer, the manager was being "helpful" and put my wife's clothes in the dryer which would have been DEATH if I did not drop by 2 min later). I will say the kitchen stove is pretty bad. Exposed elements that really do not work well. NO WAY TO SET OVEN TEMPERATURE. It is a dial with no numbers - turn it to turn it on and guess the temp it is set at. So do not plan on baking, was fine for finishing burger patties with cheese. The real bedroom faces away from Jarry so you do not have street noise. Like most wood built Montreal apartments YOU HEAR EVERYTHING. Kids running around at 6am was not fun. Vacuuming a neighbours apartment at 8am on Saturday was not fun. But we always travel with a 5W speaker and hook up a white noise app from our phone so we drowned it out. If you are a sensitive sleeper and do not want to use white noise, consider elsewhere. All in all, a good place, in an ok location, at a great price.I will be back if there is nothing closer to Little Italy.
I really enjoyed my 2-week stay, especially the small deck in front where I could sit and have a coffee or a beer and watch people go by. The Rue Jarry location is in the middle of an amazing neighborhood of restaurants from all over the world (including an amazingly good albeit pricey restaurant only a few meters away), lots of cafes, a nearby metro station, and pretty much anything you'd need within walking distance.
This rental is large for the price, clean, and all appliances worked well. No bugs or mold or anything nasty. Just a basic, clean, well-maintained place to stay while exploring Montreal. I really appreciated the free laundry machines that I used a few times. I had a few questions during my stay and all questions were answered quickly.
It's clearly intended to be affordable, not high-end, so keep your expectations realistic. The wifi is slow so if you want to do video calls or work you'll probably need to tether your phone and upgrade your international roaming plan. The beds and linens are fine but low-end. There's not much soundproofing between units, so you'll hear your neighbors footsteps pretty clearly; you'll need to be considerate with noise, so loud partiers or families with young kids might want to consider another place.
In summary, I would definitely stay here again. Great value, great location, ideally with faster wifi, cotton sheets, better pillows, and tissue boxes provided. But it was still great as-is!
We had a nice, comfortable, safe stay. Unfortunately, our GPS took us to 875 W instead of East, which was in a very rundown area. We were freaking out, but Mike got back to us right away and sent us a pin location to the appropriate building. He also ensured that we got into the building and we’re comfortable with a follow-up text. Very much appreciated. The location is good, and we were lucky to find free parking right in front of the building on some nights or nearby.
