Host profile image
I've been a builder for 38 years, residential and commercial. Three of my projects have been in magazines, a custom home, an American Legion Post, and a soundproof office in the midst of an industrial complex. Since discovering the Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse at Disney at age 18 I have dreamed of building a "real" treehouse. I purchased 43 acres in the mountains of Maine to bring this dream to life. This undertaking was not a simple one, as we built a gondola to carry all of the materials to the location. Trucks, cranes, or cement mixers could not get close to this location. A smaller gondola has been built to carry all of your needs from the parking area to the decks. Stellahouse, named for my beloved boxer, Stella, is the first building of three in Treehouse Mountain Escape.

Why they chose this property

The mountains of Western Maine have the perfect types of trees and forest to build treehouses!

What makes this property unique

Ever wanted to live in a treehouse, but with all the comforts of home? That's what Treehouse Mountain Escape is all about! My goal is to provide a unique and wonderful family vacation location that you will love.
You will notice some fun details like Stella's profile, a bird, and stars carved out of cedar shingles. 100-year old stained glass windows adorn the staircase and the first floor bedroom.
Accessing the treehouse does require climbing stairs and crossing a bridge to the screen porch. There is a gondola to carry your luggage and things up to the deck. Decks surround 4 sides, one holds a 7' x 7' hot tub.
