Mountain View Lodge, 20+ min from Yellowstone!

Great wooded privacy, quiet, backs up to Gallatin National Forest/groomed snowmobile trails and only 15-20 minutes to West Yellowstone and the West Entrance of Yellowstone National Park! Ideally suited for up to 6 adults plus children for a maximum party size of 10 (Note: Groups including more than 6 adults require owner notification and approval prior to booking). If looking for a rustic MT lodge experience, this is it! Luxurious, comfortable and consistently rated 5-Stars!

The Mountain View Lodge is a relatively new (Spring 2011) luxury log home/chalet which backs up to the Gallatin National Forest on a quiet dead-end street and only 9 miles from the West Entrance of Yellowstone National Park. The home has a great view of Lionshead Peak and the surrounding mountains of the Continental Divide. It has 1,750 sq ft of living space, including 3 Bedrooms, 3 Bathrooms, Laundry Room, Family Room, Dining Room, Kitchen, Sleeping Loft (with Twin Trundle bed) plus over 700 sq ft of covered side porch and open deck to enjoy the beautiful mountain views!

Specific sleeping arrangements are: MBR=King bed, BR1=Queen bunk beds, BR2=Queen bed, Loft=Trundle twin bed, LR=Queen sleeper sofa

Beautifully decorated in a rustic mountain lodge theme. Ideally suited for up to 6 adults plus children for a maximum party size of 10. Simply one of the `best of the best` in area rental vacation homes!

This is a full-access home rental so all areas of the home are open to our guests.

We are available 7x24 during your stay in the event you have an urgent issue that needs resolving.

Our home is located in the Lazy Acres subdivision which is only 9 miles via Targhee Pass highway to West Yellowstone and the West Gate to Yellowstone National Park. West Yellowstone has grocery stores, drug stores, restaurants, bars, service stations, theaters, fitness centers, laundries, firewood, etc for our guests` convenience.

Limited public transportation is available so a vehicle is needed - preferably a front wheel or four wheel drive if renting during the winter season.

Our home is in full-compliance with local fire, health (including Covid-19 cleaning guidelines) and taxing requirements - including necessary permits.

Prospective Guest must agree to abide by the terms of our Rental Agreement as a prerequisite to Owner confirmation of booking request. The full Agreement is listed below and by making a booking request, Guest accepts all Agreement terms and conditions.

PROPERTY ADDRESSES: Black Moose Road ~ Lazy Acres ~ West Yellowstone, MT 59758

CHECK-IN TIME is 4 P.M. MT AND CHECK-OUT is 10AM MT. No early check-in or late check-out without prior Owner agreement. In the case of inclement weather (e.g., major snowstorm causing public road closures which impact the mobility of our cleaning staff), check-in time MAY be delayed to allow staff sufficient time for proper cleaning).

SMOKING - These are NON-SMOKING properties.

PETS – PETS are not permitted in Lazy Moose Lodge or Mountain View Lodge under any conditions. With Guest’s notification and Owner’s permission prior to booking confirmation, Guest may have one (1) well-trained dog at the Mini-Moose Cabin.

DAMAGE DEPOSIT – policy as stated by Airbnb.

CANCELLATIONS – policy as stated by Airbnb

MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY – For the Lazy Moose Lodge and the Mountain View Lodge, the maximum number of guests is limited to ten (10) persons, of which no more than six (6) persons can be ADULTS without owner permission and for the Mini-Moose Cabin, the maximum number of guests is limited to six (6) persons, of which no more than four (4) can be ADULTS without owner permission.

Although the Lazy Moose Lodge and the Mountain View Lodge have sufficient beds to accommodate a party size up to 10 persons, the upper Queen bunk bed is limited to children for safety reasons - meaning that if there are more than 6 adults in the party, those additional adults will be required to use either the LR Queen Sleeper Sofa or the Loft Trundle Bed.

Likewise, although the Mini-Moose Cabin has sufficient beds to accommodate 2 adults and 2 children, if there are more than 2 adults or more than 2 children in the party, those additional adults/children will be required to use the LR Queen Sleeper Sofa.

If number of adults EXCEEDS the above recommended number (i.e., 6 for Mountain View and Lazy Moose and 2 for the Mini-Moose), the traveler must contact the owner PRIOR TO BOOKING to secure owner approval.

ADDITIONAL GUEST CHARGES – for reasons of comfort and lodging wear & tear, the recommended maximum number of guests is six (6) for the Lazy Moose Lodge and the Mountain View Lodge, and the recommended maximum number of guests is four (4) for the Mini-Moose Cabin. If the number of guests exceeds the recommended maximum number, a charge of $10 per additional guest per night will be assessed at time of booking.

MINIMUM STAY – This property requires a minimum night stay depending upon rental season. If a rental is taken for less than the required minimum stay, the guest will be charged the minimum stay rate.

INCLUSIVE FEES – Rates include a one-time linen and towel setup.

CONDITION AND USE OF PROPERTY - The property is provided in “as is” condition. Owner shall use its best efforts to ensure the operation of all amenities in the property, such as internet access, satellite or cable TV access, fireplaces as applicable. Owner shall not be held responsible for such items failure to work, but will make every effort to correct any issues as reported as quickly as possible. Guest acknowledges that use of amenities such as fireplaces, decks, and the like may be potentially dangerous and involve potential risks if improperly used, particularly regarding children and such use is at the Guest’s own risk.

Guest shall use the property for residential purposes only and in a careful manner to prevent any damage or loss to the property and keep the property in clean and sanitary condition always. Guest and any additional permitted guests shall refrain from loud noise and shall not disturb, annoy, endanger, or inconvenience neighbors, nor shall Guest use the property for any immoral, offensive or unlawful purposes, nor violate any law, association rules or ordinance, nor commit waste or nuisance on or about the property.

NO DAILY HOUSEKEEPING SERVICE – While ample linens and bath towels are included in the property, daily maid service is not included in the rental rate. Given that each property is equipped with a clothes washer and dryer, we do not permit towels or linens to be taken from the properties for cleaning or any other purposes.

DAY OF CHECKOUT - On day of check-out, please wash dishes, wash
INITIAL load of towels and linens (not necessary to dry them) and empty/secure trash in supplied dumpster.

RATE CHANGES – Rates are subject to change without notice; however, rate changes will not affect existing executed rental agreements.

FALSIFIED RESERVATIONS – Any reservation obtained under false pretense will be subject to forfeiture of advance payment, deposit and/or rental money, and the party will not be permitted to check in.

PARKING/DRIVING - Vehicles are to be parked in designated parking areas only. Parking on Black Moose Road is not permitted. Any illegally parked cars are subject to towing and applicable fines/towing fees are the sole responsibility of the vehicle owner. Speed limit on Black Moose Road is 15 mph and is strictly enforced.

FIREPLACES – The fireplace in each property is a high-efficiency wood-burning firebox that MUST be operated per the instructions provided to properly function. Pre-cut/packaged firewood bundles are not supplied by Owner but are available for purchase at any number of convenient retail store locations in West Yellowstone. DO NOT, under any circumstances, use fire starter fluid to start a fire as it could result in an explosion and/or fire - instead use dry twigs or kindling (which is normally supplied with the above mentioned firewood bundles).

WATER AND SEWER SYSTEM – These properties are connected to health department-approved deep-water wells and septic tank systems. The septic tank system is very effective; however, it will clog if improper material is flushed. DO NOT FLUSH anything other than toilet paper. No feminine products should be flushed at any time. If it is found that feminine products have been flushed and clog the septic system, Guest could be charged for the full cost to repair.

STORM POLICY– No refunds will be given for storms. Mountain roads can be curvy and steep. Gravel street and drives are well maintained;

Cabin was perfect for our family vacation to Yellowstone. Communication was very prompt and any concerns were addressed immediately. Our favorite part was our morning coffee with the momma and baby moose! (Also highly recommend eating at the Buffalo Bar or the Slippery Otter and making time to stop at the discovery center!!)

Comfortable house close to W. Yellowstone

The cabin worked out for our Yellowstone vacation with 2 other couples. The house was clean and close to Yellowstone. By renting a house we were able to cook one night, keep groceries for picnicking in Yellowstone and eat good pizza in town.

Absolutely Perfect Stay Near Yellowstone!

We had a group of five staying at this lodge, and it truly exceeded our expectations. The place was spotless, well-stocked with everything we needed (they even provided bear spray!), and the location was unbeatable. We spent each day hiking in Yellowstone, and the quick drive to the West Entrance made it incredibly convenient.The hosts were friendly, responsive, and made us feel very welcome. This is a must-stay spot for anyone visiting the area. Our family agreed—it’s one of the best vacation rentals we’ve ever experienced!

Beautiful Home

Cozy and beautiful!

Our family stayed her for Christmas and could not have asked for anything better! The cabin is absolutely beautiful and has everything you could possibly need. It’s close to town and feels like you’re in a real life snow globe!!! Already wanting to go back! The host was amazing and very responsive. Even went the extra mile to get us a Christmas tree for when we got there!

Easy and Convenient Stay for Yellowstone

The cabin was lovely, and had plenty of room for four adults and three teens. It was well-appointed, and there was nothing we needed that we couldn't find handily when needed. It is more geared for an indoor stay, since it the backyard isn't easily accessible or setup for use, which was fine for us after long days exploring the park.

We’ve been trying to make this trip for over a year. Kevin was so accommodating when we had to postpone a year because of Covid. Loved the cabin - beautiful layout and everything we needed was provided.

Yellowstone Trip 2024

I would highly recommend the mountain lodge. It was perfect for my family which included our 10 year old and grandparents. There was plenty of room for all. The hosts are the best! Very responsive but no need to contact them because the lodge is in great condition. It is a quiet, peaceful setting but only a short drive to West Yellowstone and the National Park.

Great Property!

Fantastic cabin, with amazing view, conveniently located to West Yellowstone and the entrance to Yellowstone National Park. Off the beaten path, but close to all you need for a great visit to the Yellowstone area. Well appointed kitchen, and very comfortable living/dining rooms. Master bedroom/bedroom is very spacious. Kevin made the rental process easy, and was very accessible as we checked in/out. We will absolutely stay here again, and highly recommend to others.

Winter wonderland!

This rental property is absolutely stunning! We stayed here for 4 nights to visit West Yellowstone. You will find everything you need inside the property. Beautifully decorated and comfortable.
