Owner was nice, but not responsive to email or other telecommunications. We had no hot water for our shower in the morning and I messaged the owners cell with no response received. It was too close to when checkout was for us to go to the office directly. It was also hard to find and gps took us to the incorrect location. Signs by the road were small and hard to notice. Definitely high priced for what it was, will look into another spot next time we stay in the area to fish.
Clean, comfortable, perfect location for fishing. Hard to find at night. Television service wasn't the greatest the station was stuck on Baywatch lol. Reasonable cost and the peacefulness surrounded by North Michigan woodlands was priceless
Checking in was a little confusing but Chelsea was quick to call me back and put us on the right path to check in. We came for a one night stay and the cabin was clean and had all the necessary amenities to be comfortable including working AC during our stay. We would recommend this to our friends and family.
Upon arrival Cleaning was being finished which was fine and check in call from Chelsea to confirm everything was good to go. After hanging I used toilet which did not flush, my husband tried plunging the toilet and than the sink started filling with yellow water and waste. I texted Chelsea right away, I received a response that maintenance would coming that was @ 4pm. By 7pm I called Chelsea and Mike never received a response back this is the first night.By morning and after meeting the neighbors we were all having plumbing issues. My husband went to take a shower and the tub was half way filled with poop and piss. @9:30am we went to the bait store and meet with Chelsea, after telling you about the plumbing issues, she stated sometime alone. By 2pm there was maintenance worker working on the septic tank, he stated it should get us through the rest of our Holiday weekend. There was compensation for issues we had, just a 15% off the bait store (so spend more money at your store) Thanks but no thanks.
Was very impressed with how clean our cabin was. My husband and I were able to bring our little dog. Which was a plus🙂. The cabin we stayed in was well set up and suited our needs.
Thank you, Pam and Dave
I thought the place was nice. Simple and worked for what we needed. I did think it would have more than a microwave and sink in a kitchenette. So i was a little disappointed that i couldnt cook a simple pasta dish. But it wasnt the end of the world.
Arrived to the property and was told by porperty owner property was double booked, although property owner previously confirmed booking via in-app message. I had shared that I was preparing to stay the night before my 50-mile race and had to figure out where to stay after arriving at the property. She knew a local motel had one motel had one room open and was able to refund my stay after telling me over the phone that I was not booked on her end. Very coincidental - proceed with extreme caution.
Quick Reconnoitering Trip to Manistee and Lake Counties
Surprising woodsy environment which was great - did not expect attached cabins - thought they were individual. Everything was clean, spacious, a couple of nice local artist pieces on the wall - bathroom was especially tidy. I would get rid of the carpet, put in vinyl and rugs - cleaner and won’t retain smells. Front porch was fun - two chairs for each room. Was able to get a fire going in the fire pit - that was great. Especially appreciated the quiet and solitude. Very much appreciated the dog-friendly policies. Thank you! Kozy Kitchen made us some excellent scrambled egg sandwiches and the Dublin General Store is quite capable of meeting all of your needs. Met the owner of the cabin property at the fly fishing shop and he was an extremely amenable, calm gent and purchased some lovely flies and local art from his shop. Will come back for sure. Ski season will soon be upon us!
Place was as it showed on the website. Very rustic but met our needs. Communication was not good though. Never received info about check in and when we got there the guy had no idea. He was great though and got us jnto our place.
