Enjoy a comfortable stay in this newly renovated home. This property offers a colorful and funky modern vibe with updated furniture and decorations. The home is located in Ferndale Michigan on the border of Royal Oak and Madison Heights. It is close to major cities (Birmingham, Detroit, Hazel Park etc.) and only a 30 minute drive to the airport. There is a fully fenced yard and we are a pet friendly home because who doesn't love traveling with their pets!


Available to guest when needed. Please do not hesitate to reach out with questions or concerns. We strive to ensure everyone experiences a 5 star experience !

Guests will have access to the entire home. Self-check in will be available through a lockbox. The lockbox code will be sent the morning of your stay.

Parking: There is a garage where you can also park, however there is not an automatic garage opener. There is also parking available in the driveway and free street parking!

This home offers 1 bedroom with a queen bed and 1 bedroom with a king bed. There is open space in the living room and 1 smart TV that offers your favorite streaming apps! There is also a writers desk in the common area where you can sit to work on your laptop.

The backyard is fully fenced in with furniture and a grill to enjoy spending time with friends and family during spring, summer and fall!

Poor communication and ants

The place needs some TLC. There were ants in every room, and based on the ant spray/poison we found around this place, this was a known issue.I messaged the property manager about it but never heard back. Still haven't heard back weeks later.Good location and nice sized rental for our family. Would choose something else next time due to the lack of communication and ant problem.

Cute Bungalow

The house is cute and clean. Yard was flooded, but that wasn't host's fault. It would have been good to have old towels to wipe pet paws since it's a pet friendly home. My biggest issue was a serious communication problem. No answer for days

Easy and Convenient

Centrally located, easy to get to family in the suburbs and downtown Detroit. Clean, modern appliances, cozy place to stay. Would rent again.

Nice place

The rental was as expected without issue once inside. Unfortunately the rental agent communication is one sided. We had issues locking the door and it became quite stressful. I reached out right away and never received a call or email. Fortunately we found a workaround by locking the front and leaving from the side door. In addition the address was kept secret until the day before. I might suggest in the description it be clearly stated. ie: we do not provide the address until one day prior. Lastly the ad suggests communication at any point. This is an outright lie. Before I trip I left countless messages and emails and never heard back, this may work fine for some but for me it is a HUGE deterrent.

Opening Day Getaway

We arrived to find a well decorated little home that was as described on the website. The next morning (Sunday) however we had water all over the kitchen floor that was leaking from the dishwasher (which we had not used). We used bowls to catch the water and soaked/dried all the towels 4-5 times to manage the water. It took a while for the host to respond , but we did have an appliance ce repairman come on Monday who drained the dishwasher but did not fix the problem. We had no more leaking but also did not use the dishwasher or the kitchen sink for fear of more water.We also messaged the host mid-week about a growing ant problem (that required us to buy ant traps for the bathroom) and never heard a word from them.The house was nice, though the kitchen was not usable and we had to work around the ants. We would not stay here again and will avoid any other properties also owned/managed by the same.

Delightful Home Away from Home

After a 14-hour drive it was a pleasure to come to a welcoming home and have a great night's sleep. The house is well-designed and having a complete kitchen to prepare organic meals was a big plus. The house is far better than the pictures, and the sweet backyard is a bonus. Thank you Lauren.

Not As Advertized!

Cheaper is not always better. This property leaves much to be desired for improvement - dead ants & ant traps everywhere, & live ants crawling on the couch. Kind of nasty, and not very clean. Immediately entering kitchen, there was water on the floor, that was coming from the water heater. I called Lauren w/ Costello & Co. property management, and she said that she would have someone come and look at the water leak, but no one ever came during the 4 days that we stayed. And, Lauren was not very friendly or helpful. I got very poor communication through email when I had questions - multiple questions through email that were unanswered. Lauren & Michelle were the reps from Costello & Co., who sent emails saying “if you need anything, just let us know, and we will take care of you”. Well, that was absolutely not true - good luck getting any problems solved if you rent from this company. Also, the beds were cheap and terrible! The bed frame might as well have been a cracker box - very flimsy and rattled every time we turned over. It sounded like the frame was going to break. The accommodations were lacking - not enough towels, toilet paper was cheap, no starter detergent pack for washer, no extra paper towels, no ice maker, not enough extra blankets, TV sucked, no coffee starter pack. I will never rent from this co.again! Hopefully VRBO will make things right - waiting to see if they step up? Definitely “not as advertised”.

Was a nice place for what we needed

The place was nice overall though the neighborhood was a little shady, though we had no issues, check out time could be a little later was expecting 11am just from previous stays so we were on our way out as cleaning was coming in at 10 but it was a well equiped stay for our concert trip to the Fillmore.

The home was absolutely perfect! Great location and hd everything we needed. The dogs loved the backyard as well. Michelle went above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect (once again). We will definitely be using their rental properties again in the future!

Clean, cozy and quiet

Stayed for the weekend. Nice quiet neighborhood. House was very nice, clean and decorated perfectly. It had everything we needed. Nice fenced in backyard. The dogs loved it. Excellent communication from hosts. The Whistle Stop Cafe is a must stop for brunch. Nice convenience store a short walk away. We had a great time, thank you so much
