Beautifully renovated cabin with everything you need. I have used VRBO for a long time and this was by-far the best place that Ive stayed. We got a lot of snow, so we didnt get to use the outside patio area.I was able to cook a wonderful meal in the kitchen, as everything I needed was there. We had one small issue with the door/lock, and the host was able to fix the situation in a matter of minutes. Im already planning to stay here again.
The owner was very responsive both prior to and during our stay. We had a wonderful time hiking some of the local trails. The cabin was perfect! Some of our group went to the local casinos, which are very convenient.
Everything about this property was as listed… And then some! Great communication with the property owner, amazing overall comfort and quality, great location to area hiking and activities. Surprise of snow fall enhanced the experience!
When I travel to hike I like to be able to cook my own meals, rest on a decent mattress, relax in an outdoor space, and feel like I am in a clean environment. This lovely cabin checked all those boxes for me. The host is very kind, attentive and helpful.
Beautifully remodeled cozy cabin in the clean crisp mountain air. We loved the outdoor space with the fire pit and all the thoughtful details like the humming bird feeders.
Our stay at the Mountain Cabin was great ~ the cabin is awesome, they have thought of everything you may need, super quick to respond. Would definitely recommend this cabin to family and friends 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
We enjoyed our stay at Frankie’s Cabin so much! The isolation was sweet and the cabin was so comfortable! We enjoyed the humming birds and the cool, clear weather.
We drove twice to Nederland, esp enjoying the stream side park with quiet walking paths! What a scenic little mountain town.
The kitchen was so well stocked and fun to cook in. The entire cabin was spotless, beautifully decorated, and so comfortable!
The only down sides of our visit were that neighbors behind the cabin were really loud for awhile two of our four nights there and the lack of a really good breakfast restaurant nearby. Nederland’s grocery store is convenient and well stocked although fresh produce is limited.
This cabin was a wonderful launching point for our Colorado trip. We had everything we needed to feel at home when we returned each night from our travels.
We had a wonderful time at the cabin! The location was great and all the details of the cabin were amazing. Every morning we woke up to hummingbirds and fresh mountain air. Great place to stay !
We had the most delightful stay in this lovely home. Coming from such a long distance, it was reassuring to have a host that was quick to communicate and answer any question we may have asked. The home was immaculate! The decor was darling. We had everything we needed in the most cozy atmosphere we could have imagined. Even though it was chilly in the morning, we couldn’t be stopped from enjoying our morning coffee on the lovely deck watching and listening to the hummingbirds flitting about near the bird feeders.

Unable to Stay - Issues with Access
I am leaving a 1-star review because we were unable to stay at this cabin due to access issues. Based on other reviews, this seems to be an isolated incident, but I still wanted to share my experience. We were notified that the batteries for the keypad were likely dead and instructed to use the lockbox for the spare key. We retrieved the key, but after trying to enter for 30 minutes, we had to contact Kelli. Unfortunately, we had to cancel our stay as there was no other spare key available to us. This put us in a difficult situation trying to find somewhere to stay after 6PM; however, Kelli promptly refunded our stay.
My wife and I were looking for a peaceful romantic weekend together. This hit the mark.
Having a pair of moose casually pass by while having morning coffee was very pretty cool too!
I cannot say enough of how perfect this was.. Modern , clean, right location, peaceful,… everything in and out was thoughtfully planned… thank you ,Kelli for sharing this place!….
We were looking for a place to get out of the city for a few days and found it in this cabin. It was just what we were looking for and matched the description online very well. The cabin was super clean, cozy, and comfortable. Thought went into every detail of the place. There is probably no end to the things you can do in that area.
Kelli was super efficient in her online communications and provided very helpful information about the cabin. It felt that she was very available to us.
She went above and beyond to help us get my keys back, which we had forgotten to grab before leaving.
Great place!
This cabin was exactly as described and was the perfect getaway for our anniversary trip. My husband and I loved how cozy and adorable the cabin was. We really enjoyed sitting by the fire pit in the evenings. The host, Kelli, was great! She communicated well with us, and was incredibly flexible with us when we wanted to extend our stay! We are not pet owners ourselves, and we knew the cabin was dog friendly, but one of the things we noted was some dog hair. Also, the neighbors were very loud all hours of the day and night- however, this cannot be attributed to our host at all. We plan to visit again in the future!!
My wife and I stayed her for the weekend and were very impressed with how clean and up to date the cabin and amenities were. The communication with Kelli was always quick and easy. Would definitely recommend staying here for anyone looking for a private and cozy getaway.

About the host
Hosted by Kelli Nicholson
I'm a Colorado Native and love the process of creating beautiful, comfortable and welcoming spaces. I've always dreamed of having a cabin in the mountains and getting the opportunity to share it with others.
Why they chose this property
The cabin sits back off the road and overlooks the valley. It feels like you are secluded but you have modern conveniences close by and it's so easy to get to the main road. It is conveniently located just an hour away from Denver and 30 minutes from Boulder and close to many State Parks and trails. Hiking, mountain biking, gambling, skiing, dining and fishing are all close by.
What makes this property unique
The unique modern design is like no other but still feels very cozy and rustic. The home was originally built as a summer cabin by Denver residents in the 1950's.
