Guest Review: "Wonderful! Fantastic family venue!" " For our first ever beach house rental with kids and grandkids, it turns out we picked a feature-packed rental home. The living and sleeping areas are incredibly spacious and well-planned for multi-family use. The open, well-lit kitchen had plenty of high-quality dishes, cookware and utensils, and the unadvertised extra pantry with 2nd refrigerator was a welcome surprise for the cooks! We made good use of the huge dining table for family board games, and when we entertained visiting relatives from Ohio there was plenty of room for a total of 21 people for dinner. The grandkids enjoyed the game room, and they loved the large pool! There are multiple back decks with good views of the pool below and of the ocean with lifeguarded beach near Jennette's Pier, just a short walk away. (The pier is open for night-fishing, and our dads and sons took the opportunity to make a memory by catching a skate!) A favorite family highlight was watching a spectacular lightning storm over the sound from the front deck off the dining room. We appreciated the personal contact with the owner, both through the rental process and in meeting our needs during our visit. We would definitely rent this house again."

Great vacation property

We had a great week at this rental house. The location is great; near Jennette's Pier and there are lots of things to do nearby. The beach is a short walk away. There is also a convenience store within walking distance. We all enjoyed the pool area, including the hot tub. We would definitely recommend this property.

The two refrigerators was a nice touch allowing us to store bulking stuff like bottled water. Pool and hot tub was enjoyed by all. Busy highway in the front is very noisy however the backyard area was great. Ceiling fan in master bedroom stuck on high was annoying. Ice cream shop, fresh seafood market and small convenience market just steps away. Gas grill would have been nice but we learned how to use charcoal again.

Great location

Location was great. Short walking distance to beach, ice cream shop, restaurants, Tanger Mall. House is essentially on the highway, but some reviewers commented about how loud it was. We had no problem what so ever sleeping. Sitting in front deck at times was loud, but there are several decks to this home. Pool is great; plenty of space inside. Comfortable beds. House was clean enough, but it needs a DEEP clean: baseboards, some furniture, around door handles, etc. TV in master bedroom never worked. Called maintenance on Monday, didn’t show up until Thursday. TV in living room is way too small for the size of the room.

Great Vacation Home In The Heart of The OBX

This was a great beach house for celebrating my husband’s birthday with some close friends. It had everything you could want in a rental and was very clean. The only reason I gave 4 stars for the online description, is because I would have loved to know that the private pool will not open until April 29th. Therefore, if we wanted it cleaned we would have had to paid extra. Knowing this would have allowed me to adjust my scheduled stay accordingly since one of the primary reasons for choosing this beach house was the private pool and hot tub. I was definitely annoyed by learning this after my arrival. Other than that lack of prior communication, this beach house was full of fun activities, lots of space for food and beverages, a wonderful tub in the master sweet, and gorgeous views from the many balconies. I hope to stay here again.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had an excellent stay. 8 extended family members covering 3 generations from pre-teen to seniors. The house was very comfortable for us. There was plenty of space to be together, and also the availability of some private space when needed. The pool was a hit with all as was the hot tub. The location is within a short walk to the beach, Jeanette Pier, a nearby market, and the local ice cream shop (highly recommended!). We had 3 SUVs and could park all for easy access. We went on a crabbing trip, then took our haul to the seafood market at the corner. They steamed and seasoned them for us for a reasonable price. The blue crabs were excellent. We also took a drive down to the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse and the Graveyard of the Atlantic Museum, played disc golf on Roanoak Island, and visited the Wright Brothers Memorial. There are also several putt-putt courses nearby and an outlet mall for those who need retail therapy. The week was a perfect mix of lazing in the sun and checking out the local area.

And we weren’t able to check in until 6:30. But it was a fantastic stay and we would definitely rent here again!

Location was great with groceries, ice cream and fish market within walking distance. Beach and pier just a short walk, pool and hot tub, rec room with pool and foosball tables were very welcome. Enough dining space for all 10, plenty of bed and bath rooms. So much to do and see with only short rides to access. Property was clean and well appointed. Two refrigerator/freezers was real bonus! Staff was responsive and communicated well. When arriving, we missed the turnoff twice, so perhaps a sign at the entrance from the highway would help. Teenagers soaked up a lot of wifi - perhaps a second channel? Overall, was a wonderful place to stay. Thank you!

Perfect for fishing weekend & jeep invasion

The location was perfect for fishing on the pier and attending the jeep invasion. It was challenging to fall asleep at night because the house is located on the main road and the traffic is so loud. Everyone enjoyed the hot tub and hanging around the pool.

Nice house

Location is very close to other homes. There Is no privacy. Unfortunately we had 4 kids in the house to the left of us that were extremely rude while their parents left them unattended. The family on the right of us had a screaming baby from Wednesday on. The house is decorated nicely. It is close to everything. The internet/wifi is extremely bad. It was difficult to stay connected or to stream a movie without constant buffering.

Review

The TVs never worked. We did get a service call and technician said he had fixed it but issues were resolved. I texted the office again and was totally frustrated with their response which they did not respond for the second call. Also the carpets are very old and stained. The carpets weren't clean that well either when we arrived.

Great location if you can tolerate poor cleaning

I stayed a lot Shell Town in August 2022. Even though the location is nice, I would not stay here again. Here the pros and cons: Pros - 5 minute walk to beach - Good size pool that is shaded by the house - Beautiful view of water upstairs - Outdoor shower - Located near the pier, restaurants, and walking trail - Linens are provided Cons - There were cleanliness issues. The bathtubs & toilets were dirty. My magic clean eraser was saturated in dirt after cleaning the master shower. The toilet had pee stains under the lid. Refrigerator door handle was filthy. Food ok the living room carpet. Management did offer for the cleaners to come back to clean the house and allow us to sign off on whether it was satisfactory. - The grout in the master shower had mold. Housekeeping helped remove a lot of it but there was still some mold there. - Issues with WiFi connection on the 2nd and 1st levels because router was on ground level.
