We loved this house! Our family of 8 (including a 14 month old) loved this space, and the pontoon boat was wonderful. We talked about coming back next summer to enjoy the quiet again.
The property is lovely. Beautiful home. Comfortable beds and pillows. The kitchen appliances were kinda tricky so there is a learning curve there. Neighbors were very friendly too!
Great communication. Super cute space. Had to go to the delightful neighbors for a wine opener and fire starter for sauna (we left them a bottle of wine as a thank you) and the master bath toilet was pretty touchy. Other than that, great location and home. Fit perfect for our needs. Would book again. Thank you!
Only great things to say about this place. The beds were all comfy and had clean, white quality bedding like a high-end hotel. The place wasn't just quick-cleaned like some places you can easily find dust in corners - it was really clean all over. There were also just a lot of little things the host has thought through and done well - one of many small examples would be the towels and other items stocked in each bathroom. This place is a cut above.
We had a great time with a group of 12 ranging in age from 2 to 65. Great views of the lake, fully equipped kitchen, comfy beds and linens, and fun water toys.
We had a wonderful vacation at Cedar Lake getaway! The house was comfortable and well stocked. It was obvious the house was built to be a lake house and it functioned very well. The lake itself was big and we had enough space for boating, fishing, swimming, kayaking, and tubing. The nearby town had some fun activities and the grocery store was close. The owners were very responsive to our questions. We would stay here again!
The house was perfect for our family and everyone had a space!! Also the fishing was so fun off the dock!! The kids loved it and Grandparents enjoyed watching the excitement. We had dogs and they were very comfortable.
The weather was awful, but the place was very nice for a fall getaway quiet, well appointed in the kitchen area and other. The bed was wonderful. We didn’t try the sauna, but it looked fun. The bonfire area looks fun as well. The views were fantastic.
We had a fantastic long weekend at the cabin! The golf course less than a mile away was super convenient. Cabin had everything we needed to make most of our meals there and we were close enough to town for when we wanted to go out to eat. Check-in and out processes were simple and the host was very clear on all instructions.
This lake home was perfect! It was super clean and comfortable. The open floor plan in the living/dining/kitchen area had plenty of comfortable seating for our large group. The lake is crystal clear and the large dock had lots of room for sunbathing and watching the kids swim. The lily pad, paddle boards, and kayaks were also a fun bonus. Thank you so much for an amazing stay!

Disliked: Cleanliness, listing accuracy
Pretty horrible experience. The house smelled horribly of sewer. We contacted the host and was told that the cleaning lady never mentioned the smell and to run water in the drains. We did however, the smell permeated throughout the house the entire stay. The host did not contact us after we reported it to check on us. Four of us left feeling very ill. We also tried to use the oven however that had oven cleaner still caked on it. That also smelled horrible and we were not able to use the oven. Very disappointed in the whole situation. This was our second time renting this place and we were very disappointed.
Took 10 family members there and had a great time! There was so much more at the cabin than was listed. Ping Pong table, bags boards, extra life jackets a full sized drinks fridge, a 2 burner flat top for cooking on the range and so much more!
Thoroughly enjoyed our time at this lovely cabin. We had plenty of space to spread out to enjoy reading, relaxing and water sports. This was our first time to Cedar Lake. It's a deep lake with a well maintained boat launch at the north end. This property had plenty of parking with the lot across the street and very friendly neighbors! Nicely decorated cabin with comfortable beds and couch for lounging/napping. Owners were prompt to answer questions and were great to work with as well.
We loved that there were 3 separate areas of bedrooms and bathrooms - it worked so well for our family. Very comfortable home with lots of games/water toys. Nice open area for our family to gather. Part of our family could watch soccer and others could play games. Also lots of options for water activities. We rented the pontoon (highly recommend), plus had a kayak and 2 SUP. It's not fancy - but very homey and comfortable. Our host was excellent with communication!
My adult children had requested a large house for those who wanted to sleep in, and a communal kitchen space. This cabin had that and more. The water access wasn’t great, as a long steep stairway led to a rocky shoreline. But once there, water activities were wonderful! We would have enjoyed more yard room, but made due with generous neighbors.
The house was what we expected and more! The host had everything ready for us near the water, paddle boards and kayaks. Easy to get them in and out of the lake. Renting the pontoon for a day is a must, this lake has so much to see and don't forget to find the sandbar to get out of the pontoon and explore! When questions arose, the host was easy to contact.

Thank you so much for staying! We’ve very happy to hear you had a great experience. Be happy to have you back!
Overall enjoyed the stay and sauna. There were security cameras set up on the exterior of the house, pointing at the driveway, front door and back deck.
I didn't mind the use of the security cameras, but they were not disclosed in the property's description. I thought the camera on the back deck slightly compromised our privacy going to and from the sauna.
The home owner's were very easy to communicate with and helpful. I would recommend this house.
This VRBO offered the ideal space for our multi-generation pre-Christmas getaway. We brought together college students needing a break, young adults working remotely, an empty nesting couple and two 80 year olds celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary. We enjoyed the big tv for sports games and holiday movies, the toasty gas fireplace, the open plan kitchen and the large table for games. We took our dog on plenty of walks in the area, including at the state park. We also had fun getting hot and sweaty in the wood fired sauna, then making snow angels outside to cool off before heading back into the sauna. Ping pong was a big hit! The beds and couch were really comfortable and the master bathtub is fantastic. We savored watching the lake and the sky change as the day progressed and saw a flock of white egrets fly by in formation. We would definitely spend another week here. Thank you for the fantastic stay!
Oh, we'd go back to this home again!
Looks like a new addition with 2 large bedrooms which use to be 1 big master (split nicely into 2) toward the front of the house. The other 2 bedrooms are plenty big as well, but not as new as the front bedrooms. The kitchen, dining/game table, and living room are open concept and very usable. Everything was clean and well maintained.
The oven could use some updating, but it worked! We made all our meals, and gathered in this space everyday we were guests here (4).
Outside is very fun once I swept the acorns off the sidewalks. The Sauna is so nice. It works very well and there is plenty of wood for the Sauna and both fire pits. What a fun amenity, this we have not seen in all of our lake home rentals so far. The sauna was a fun group event for our family to use.
The dock seems new and with padded posts at the end to tie up a boat safely and use the kayaks. These amenities are not always included so we don't book those places. This place however: kayaks, paddle boards, sauna and corn hole are all included, those activity options are the things that keep us coming back.
I texted the owners, very responsive and kind.
There was plenty of parking for our 4 vehicles (1 with a boat trailer) because there is space across the road.
Highly recommended!
