About this property

Nola's Nest - North Coast Vintage House.

Steps away from Grandma's Marathon.

Sorry, No Pets!

Wonderful lake view from back deck, very short walk to Lake Superior!

I’ve hosted my home for 3 years now, with overall 4.8 stars on AirBnb.

This quiet, low-key neighborhood is tucked down near Lake Superior in Duluth's Endion neighborhood. The house itself was built in 1890 and features a lake view from the patio, claw foot tub, radiators, MCM pieces and modern vintage charm. It's a 3 walk block to the lake walk where you can pick agates and watch the waves on beautiful Lake Superior.

The space:

Step back in time in this bright and thoughtfully preserved space with maple hardwood floors, velvet curtains, a claw foot tub, and porcelain door knobs.

All three bedrooms and the bathroom are upstairs. The claw foot tub is a fun feature, but requires a big step up into it. There are grab bars to assist you getting in and out. If you are with a group, be mindful that the hot water may run out if demand is too high. Consider spacing out your showers.
The California King bedroom has a Smart TV. The two other bedrooms each have a Queen and Full bed. There is an exercise bike in one of the bedroom closets you can take out for a workout.

Downstairs, there is a comfy couch and Smart TV in the front room, as well as a vintage stereo console, which the AM/FM radio works. There is a big table in the dining room, and seating in the parlor. The kitchen has a bar for more seating and viewing wildlife, as well as a gas stove, kettle, microwave, coffee pot, espresso machine, French press and items you will need to cook and eat meals.

The back patio is the place to dine outside or light the propane fire pit and watch boats and trains go by while enjoying the Lake Superior breeze.

Per the city of Duluth, a guest record including the name, address, phone number, and vehicle license plate information for all guests is required.

Parking in on-street only. There typically are parking spots right outside the house. 2 cars max please.

Worked out perfect for us

We had family coming into town to help with the moving of a relative out of his home after 80 plus years. Location worked well on getting to The Point daily. It is a great location for enjoying the city with stores and eateries in the area. Very quiet neighbor. House was very clean and stocked with the dishes you would need. Would stay again. The three bedrooms are large.

Lovely house

This was a very nice house to stay. Clean, good communication, beautiful, cute backyard and deck. The only downside is that the city of Duluth has problems with lead pipes; I asked the owner of the house if the water had been tested and they said it had not. We don't know if this house has lead in the water, so we bought bottled water to drink and took very short showers since lead is absorbed through consumption and through the skin.

Thanks so much for the stay Althea! I’m glad you brought the water testing to my attention, as I wasn’t aware of any issues with lead pipes in Duluth until now. I now have a water filter and lots of bottled water available at my house. I bought and home test and it didn’t show any levels as out of normal range. Also, I just received an email back from the city today telling me that my water service was replaced with copper in 1939 and that confirms the service is not lead. I’m sorry I hadn’t had the water tested before your stay, as I wasn’t aware of any water issues until then. Thanks Again! Nola
