Serene Ranch Retreat amongst the oaks set on an 165 acres property.
Enjoy the peace and quiet of this beautiful ranch property nestled among the oak trees. This adorable two bedroom house, two bathroom house features an open living plan with large windows to enjoy the natural light and wildlife in an amazing Ranch setting! The property/house is just outside of town, so quiet and peaceful, yet centered in the county so you can easily explore all the fun the central coast has to offer. It's 5 min from the charming town of Santa Margarita, 25 min to the beach, 20 min to San Luis Obispo and 20 min to beautiful Paso Wine Country. There is hiking, mountain biking, fishing, horseback riding, zip lining, wine tasting and good food within 5-10 min of the house. We have a beautiful ridge behind the house that you can hike to in 5 min which has great sunset views of Santa Margarita. One of our favorite things to do is wake up and enjoy a cup of coffee on the patio and watch the wildlife come visit.

We came back because of the serenity and comforts this place brings! Highly recommend this property. Great owners, beautiful location and everything you need for a great stay!
Best place to stay for travel in the Highway 58 region
This is a converted carriage house with two bedrooms and two bathrooms, one en-suite. There is a roomy common room with lots of comfortable seating and a kitchen equipped with just about everything one could want. All equipment and utilities worked well. There are also comfortable chairs outside and a long picnic table and benches. From inside and out there are good views downhill through the trees and across to the tops of the mountains between Pozo Road and 101. The setting is very attractive and quiet. A more restful retreat will be hard to find.
What a unique and picturesque place to stay. So much better for us than any hotel could have been. Communication was prompt and walking the property was amazing.
Perfect place for what we needed in an amzing setting that added to our trip. We stsyed there for an adventure bike trip trhpugh the wine country through out the county and up the coast.
This place was wonderful. A short walk up the hill to overlook the valley and see some beautiful sunsets. The carriage house was cozy yet very spacious. We had a great time and will be planning a return trip for next year.
We stayed at this lovely ranch house for a wedding, which turned out to be on the same property but down a mile or so. I highly recommend this house versus the overpriced hotels in San Luis Obispo if you’re coming to Santa Margarita for a wedding.
Loved staying here. Perfect ranch style stay between slo and Paso. Loved the property. House was cozy and well equipped. Would definitely want to come back! Have friends already asking for the link after seeing all our amazing photos and memories made.
The only sounds on this property was birdsong, and branches moving in the wind. When we weren't outside in the adirondack chairs, we were inside the wonderfully clean, beautifully decorated interior. There was plenty of space for a family or couples retreat, and the kitchen was a dream. We look forward to returning in the near furture.
The property was very clean, well decorated and felt like a home. The kitchen was fully stocked with what you need to cook and serve meals. The setting was quiet and peaceful and “away from it all” but still a quick drive to SLO, the beach and activities. 10/10 recommend!
We were a little unsure about booking the property without any reviews, but the pictures looked great, and it certainly did not disappoint.
Stunning house on a beautiful property. Hanging by the fire and watching the sunset was amazing. The kids were constantly entertained by the surrounding nature. The hosts were so easy to work with, and provided everything we needed for the weekend.
Definitely recommend!
Our family of 5 had a wonderful stay at the ranch. The house is a cozy cabin style, with very comfy beds, nice linens, and had all the amenities we needed. We loved having meals on the big wood slab dining table on the porch, we could have seated 20! The best part was the quiet, starry nights and the daytime hikes among the quail and native manzanitas. Gorgeous views on the trail that starts behind the house. We will be back!
When we arrived the owners were doing some outside cleanup and bringing fire wood. They were so nice! Gave us some restaurants and places we might life. Told us to call with anything we needed. The property was rustic on the outside and top of the line inside. Because I'm always wary of the cookware this place had all top of the line everything in the kitchen. Nice surprise. Everything in the house was so nice and we could not have wanted for anything. The air conditioning was nice since it was pretty hot, but only needed it for a few of hours in the afternoon. It is peaceful and relaxing with lots of hiking trails close by. We enjoyed the deer in the morning and evening. It was just a perfect place to stay and relax for a few days. My daughter, granddaughter and I all loved it. Thanks for such a wonderful home we could relax in for a few days. We would all love to come back.
This by far the most amazing place we have ever stayed. It felt like it was our second home.
The kitchen is perfectly stocked with great quality cookware, utensils, towels, silverware and appliances.
The beds are comfortable and the bathrooms are so fun and well stocked as well.
Furniture is very nice quality and very comfy cozy. Wood burning stove makes the living area even cozier.
The outdoor space is so inviting and so very peaceful. Perfect place to relax & enjoy nature.
We can hardly wait to go back.
The owners respond immediately and are so accommodating. They have thought of everything for any age group. I feel that if you look up the word “hosts” their pictures would be next to it!!
The home is clean both inside and out and very well organized.
Simply amazing stay. Thank you so much Taylor and Kristin.
Our stay at this delightful carriage house was nothing short of magical! Tucked away on a sprawling 165-acre ranch, the setting was simply breathtaking. The views were awe-inspiring, offering a serene backdrop of nature at its finest.
The carriage house itself was a cozy haven, beautifully appointed with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The rustic charm blended perfectly with modern amenities, giving us the best of both worlds. The hosts were gracious and accommodating, ensuring our stay was nothing short of perfect.
One of the highlights was the firepit - gathering around it in the evenings, sharing stories, and enjoying a glass of wine under the starry sky made for unforgettable memories.
The proximity to various activities was a huge plus. Whether it was hiking trails near the ocean, the escape room at Santa Margarita Adventures, or simply unwinding amidst nature, there was always something to do. Yet, the best moments were spent right on the ranch, soaking in the tranquility and beauty that surrounded us.
Leaving was the hardest part, but we departed feeling refreshed, rejuvenated, and already planning our return. If you're seeking a peaceful retreat amidst stunning views, plenty of wildlife and a touch of adventure, this carriage house on the ranch is an absolute must!
