The property had apparently not been inspected by the manager before our stay. There were several serious issues which we have communicated with the manager about. The manager was not particularly helpful prior to our move in. For example, knowing that this was a rural property and that we might be arriving after dark, I asked the manager for more specific directions so that we would be able to locate it in an area unfamiliar to us. The manager basically told me, “Google it”. I have made several other suggestions to the manager about our concerns. The property is beautiful and had all the spaces our large family. That was about the only positive.

Beautiful property on land in Round Top Texas

We were really hoping to enjoy our stay at this property. However, upon arriving there was still a mess left from the past tenants, one bed was missing a mattress and two other beds had dirty sheets that hadn’t been cleaned, just made up. The refrigerators still had leftover liquor bottles, which is not a great surprise for curious children looking around a new property. The photos matched the location, which was nice. We reached out to the owners of the property and didn’t get a response to missing items till after we checked out. I know there are not many options to stay in the area, but spending as much as we did to stay there we were extremely disappointed with the lack of help from the owners.

The house was nice. However, some things need attention. First, the refrigerator shelf was held up by tape. Who does this? We didn’t know this as we were filling the refrigerator with food and drink. The next day when I opened the refrigerator the shelf breaks loose and we lost all our bottled drinks when they crashed on the kitchen floor. The outside hammock was moldy. Gross. And the one thing we all looked forward to in order to relax. The hot tub didn’t have water. Instead, it was stinky and full of mold. It was disgusting. Why were we not told in advance? The amount of money we paid for the house. I’m very upset about this. This is wrong. We paid almost 3,000 for a two night stay. We expected a working hot tub. My family and I wanted to enjoy the hot tub but were very disappointed when we couldn’t due to mold and the rotten smell.
