Made some great family memories on the absolutely beautiful waterfront deck. The beds were really comfortable, kitchen was well stocked, house was clean. Only two issues: the walk between the cottage and the house was steeper than we realized, one of our party who was a month out from an ankle injury had to drive it. Definitely wasn’t a big issue, just be aware if anyone in your party has mobility issues. Also, we happened to be there during a few warm days and it was hard to cool the house off at night with no screens on some of the windows. Other than these issues we had a blast. It was so great to have access to kayaks and paddle-boards to explore the lake.
This property is in a beautiful wooded setting and is in a convenient location to access different areas of Olympic National park. It also has easy access to head to Port Angeles for supplies, restaurants and other needs. Between the cabin and the cottage we were able to accommodate our extended family of 12. The cabin had great space for kids to play outside and we enjoyed eating at a large outdoor table. The cottage is down the hill from the cabin and offers water access. The cottage itself is small but it has a beautiful deck area and is right on Lake Sunderland for swimming, boating and water access. We enjoyed our stay, and the host provided all the information we needed to help us settle in. We would recommend this property for families wanting a home base for their visit to the park.
This property had the most amazing location and we lived spending our afternoons and evenings on the covered deck and down by the water. The kids and loved all the water toys and sitting by the gas fire pit.
Pros - Clean and well-stocked kitchen. Beautiful views. Responsive and helpful host. Close to Olympic NP (Lake Crescent & Sol Duc areas). Cons - The only issue we had was that the photos are misleading. The dock is very close to other people and not secluded as the pics suggest. 2 of the cottage beds are in the bathroom. We were thankful to only have 10 total people in our party rather than the 16 the listing says are possible. Even in the main cabin which sleeps 11, it was somewhat difficult with only 1 shower and very few options to store our things in. Also note that the cottage at the lake is a steep hill away from the main cabin. It was fine for the younger members in our group but tricky for the older members and would require driving back & forth. Overall we did enjoy our stay.
Top tier.
Fishing, location, accommodations and meeting expectations. Family loved it.
I say this as a former Tourism Director of WA State and a former resident of the Olympic Peninsula.
Both properties included in this rental are great. About twenty minutes from Port Angeles town center. Great location to Olympic National Park. Clean, updated and Alyssa was super responsive!! The deck by the lake is amazing. A great experience overall!
