This unique small Waterfront cottage in Douglas, MI is 30 Front Feet of Gorgeous Lake Michigan. You can swim, sunbath, sail, and enjoy the private beach. It was built in 1917 and has remained in the same family ever since, while being continuously improved. Open Studio concept with Queen Murphy Bed and a double Bed Sofa sleeper with tiled bathroom Redwood countertops in the kitchen, with full laundry. Total sleeping capacity is 2 people. This Private Beach right on Lake Michigan is a gorgeous, near Saugatuck on Douglas beach. Lake front on Lake Michigan

Fell in love with the Mermaid Casita!

What a gem! We stayed at the Mermaid Casita over the 4th of July and had a wonderful time. The Casita was charming and unique and we will definitely be back again. The beach was gorgeous and the fireworks show was fantastic. The host was accommodating and great with communication.

Absolutely spectacular place! The art style in the casita is eclectic and really cool. All of the little touches (the epoxy counters with beach scenes, the tile work on floors and walls, the multiple decks with spots that are shaded at different times of the day) add up to one of the best places we have ever stayed at. The host is very friendly and accommodating. We will be back!

Friendly host and beautiful location

The location was ideal! The outside had 3 deck levels all with an amazing view of the lake. The host had boards, chairs, and a bunch of amenities to help you enjoy the water. I will definitely be back again.

Piece of Paradise !

The Mermaid Casita was a fun , and artsy dwelling. The view was beautiful, with access to a private beach! The location was great for everything that area had to offer. Host was friendly and very helpful!! I would stay again.

The view from the deck and the room.... spectacular. Frederick was attentive. Might want to remind people to bring coffee supplies for a moment on the patio without coffee ....

Magical Getaway

We recently had the pleasure of staying at the Mermaid Casita, and I must say it was a truly magical experience. From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the whimsical and artistic atmosphere of the place. The Mermaid Casita is beautifully decorated with an artistic & eclectic flair. The attention to detail in the design and décor is evident, and it truly feels like stepping into a fairytale. Although it was cold, our toes did meet the lake monetarily. We will be back when it is warmer. Frederick is a wonderful host. Come check out this gem, it won't disappoint.
