The humans loved the king size bed! It was SO comfortable! The location was great, too! The fur babies loved the fenced backyard, which was a must for them. They loved the dog blankets and little touches that made for a perfect stay!

When reviewing the amenities and photos of the property while searching for a place to stay, we thought this was very good. But once we arrived, it was even better than we had hoped. This is such a relaxing, beautiful cottage and property! It worked so well for our two-night getaway with our dog, who also had a ball, exploring the landscaped yard and hanging out on the screened-in porch, where he was thrilled to find a basket of dog toys. There were so many thoughtful touches in this home-away-from-home. Joanna was a gracious host, and we can't wait to return!

The term casually elegant best describes the home on Water Street. The owners provided all the items that were needed to make our stay both comfortable and safe and, the fenced backyard, gave our dog the opportunity to run free for at least a part of the trip. An excellent location allowed us to venture out on day trips to a variety of different areas along the shores of Lake Michigan. Would definitely return....

Both the humans and the dogs enjoyed the stay! House was clean & spacious, had everything we needed to feel comfortable and at-home, the yard was beautiful and gave our pups plenty of room to run and play while we watched from the screened-in porch. The house is centrally located to both Douglas and Saugatuck, which made getting around and exploring a breeze. The hosts were friendly and responsive.

Perfect home for small family with dog

This house was amazing. Fit myself,husband and son perfectly. Our dog Luna had a very big back yard tp roam around. Kitchen was nice and the master bed was comfortable.

Hidden Gem

We enjoyed our stay and the back yard is amazing. Our pup enjoyed exploring all it had to offer. Deer were eating pumpkins just behind the back fence. The house was in a quiet neighborhood and easy to access. Hosts were very responsive and Oval beach is nearby where you can get some wonderful sunset pictures.

Backyard sanctuary

The property is really pretty. The backyard was a sanctuary and so relaxing. It's so beautifully landscaped. It was perfect for our labrador Mya. She enjoyed playing frisbee. We enjoyed a nice campfire in the fire pit. I love that there was a gas grill to cook out. The screened in porch is nice for relaxing with your morning coffee even though our stay was chilly several mornings. Everything was really clean and comfortable. We would stay here again for sure. Great house and backyard, especially the landscaping for everything you need, especially with a dog. Owners were very responsive. Short term, maiden grass out front makes it hard to see getting out of the driveway. We could have used a couple more bathroom hand and shower towels. Long-term, a dishwasher would be ideal. Beautiful remodeled home. Extra clean! LARGE fenced yard with amazing gardens. ( We were there about 2 weeks early for the full bloom, but still very beautiful! ) The owner thought of everything; extra toothbrushes, coffee bar, even dog treats! Top notch bedding (super comfy linens, pillows, mattresses) Contacted her for small things (where’s the fan remote?) and she answered immediately. Close by to downtown Douglas and Saugatuck for fun restaurants and shopping. Holland has great downtown area too, about 20 min away. Don’t miss Saugatuck State Park, 5 min drive, for moderate sand dune hike to amazing beach on Lake Michigan. I’ll go again soon!

Peaceful respite

A friend and I spent 3 relaxing nights here. The side and backyards were tranquil with emerging ferns, lily of the valley & even a single morel mushroom. Time spent in the screened-in porch was cherished given the view, birds & local black squirrels. The home was so clean, simply decorated and comfortable. Each bed was comfy with 4 pillows, eye masks and fans. The bath towels were soft & fluffy. And the kitchen was equipped with whatever you needed. We also took advice from the host and visited local restaurants with our favorite being Back Alley Pizza Joint (BBQ Chicken pizza) & the Southerner (chicken biscuit with honey butter & grits!). Douglas has a sweet downtown, as does nearby Saugatuck.This property was ideal for your pet with many dog friendly touches including raised food tissue, basket of toys & fenced in backyard ( though my corgi stayed home this time). Definitely would recommend this quiet residential locale.

Cute, quiet house near Saugatuck and Lake Michigan

House was very clean and perfect for myself, my wife, my two kids and our dog. The location was great, only a few minutes from Saugatuck, and about 20 minutes from South Haven. We loved having the well shaded back yard for our dog to run around!
