This was the perfect place for our little family. My son loved being able to have room to run and play. The hot tub was fantastic. We even got a visit from the sweetest cat!
The property was perfect for our weekend in Goldendale! It felt like a vacation in itself. The home was the perfect size and there were so many fun things for the kids to do. We didn’t get to explore everything we wanted to, but my kids loved the pretend jail house, the ninja course, and the hot tub. We enjoyed slow mornings in the beautiful setting. We will be back again!
This is a fantastic property! The guesthouse has everything you need for your stay and the surrounding acreage is quiet and peaceful. It is absolutely kid friendly while offering an escape from the city.
The property is BEAUTIFUL! Lovely travels, a ton of wild life, a beautiful pool set up and plenty of yard space! The ac was fantastic, the pool was very clean, and the view of the stars are beyond this world!
First of all, WOW! This place was amazing! We had a family getaway for the weekend {two adults and two teenagers} and this place was perfect. Both of the beds were super comfortable, the place was really clean, and the hosts were very nice.
We went to Maryhill Winery which was only 25minutes away. Downtown Goldendale was a really cute town and has several neat little stores. Amazing star gazing at night.
Only 2.5 hours to Portland. We'll definitely be back!!
Not only was this property cute in its VRBO photo, it had everything we needed and was MUCH more than we expected. We expected comfortable beds, a functioning kitchen, a TV (we never used) and climate control, all of which were there, certainly, but the details!
The kitchen was fully equipped with dishes, cookware, utensils including SHARP knives, paper towels and detergent. There were also freshly filled ice trays in the freezer, condiments, a coffee/tea/hot chocolate assortment with creamers and sweeteners. And four comfortable, adjustable barstools at the kitchen island.
The bathroom vanity had a glorious 3-section mirror that, when opened, allowed me to see ALL sides of my head without a hand mirror! Shampoo, conditioner and body wash in the shower meant we could have packed less. And plenty of hot water.
The bedroom upstairs had two very comfortable queen beds, with comforters and four pillows on each, and extra blankets nearby. Each of the four night-stands had lamps with two levels of brightness plus an optional night light feature, PLUS slots for USB chargers at the base of each!
The owners, Tim and Jenelle, built this place from lumber grown and hand milled by them on the property. They cleared and used excess or damaged trees to build, and to create “defendable space” around the home. Oh you’d just have to see it!
And the deer, the wild turkeys, the horses, the pool, the garden, and all the fresh country air you can breathe!

Had a wonderful time. Perfect, cozy and very clean, with a homie feeling. The owners were amazing, great for couples, or to entertain bigger families. Activities for kids aound the property as for the adults. But the main attraction was the hottub. Highly recommended and would definitely come back.
We are originally from SW Washington and enjoy spending time outdoors exploring and building. We spent many years camping on property in the Goldendale area before selling the place we built from the ground up in Yacolt WA and moving in 2017. When we bought this property the only building on it was an old pump house that we eventually tore down. Everything on the property to date was mostly built by us with some help from family and friends.
We also have a vacation rental on the Big island of Hawaii in the Puna district. We purchased the most unloved house in the neighborhood an gave it a complete remodel. We currently spend the winter in Hawaii and the rest of the year in Goldendale and SW Washington. We really enjoy sharing our homes with guests and reading the reviews they leave about the wonderful memories they were able to make with family and friends.
Why they chose this property
We chose our property because it is at the base of the Simco mountain range with an oak and pine forest. We love the dry climate and 300 days of sun per year. Even when it is cold most days have sun and blue sky. The wild life is abundant on our property you may see squirrel, deer, turkey and many birds. We also love the dark night sky and amazing star gazing.
What makes this property unique
We are continually working on improving our property, limbing trees clearing brush and making trails. This is beneficial to humans, habitat and reducing the risk of wildfire. Every spring we find new wild flowers and more wildlife.
