Mid-Century Mountain Home with Breathtaking Views

A nature lover's dream....
The large windows of this rustic home look out on the San Francisco Bay and the trails of Mount Tam are literally right out your door. It's hard to believe that San Francisco is a mere 14 miles away when you wake up to deer in the garden and the smell of pine.

There's a large patio surrounding the property from which to enjoy the ever-changing vistas of San Francisco and Mt. Tam . And despite the mountain setting, it's only a mile drive down the mountain to the quaint Mill Valley town square.

This cozy artist's retreat is located at the head of a hiking trail which will take you as far as Stinson Beach (if you've got the energy) or as close as the little stream about half mile down the fire trail.

A large fireplace, terrazzo floors, eclectic antiques and interesting old books... It is very much a retreat whether you want to stay put & relax, sail or mountain bike, experience small town life in Mill valley or explore the many sights in San Francisco.

Absolutely stunning views of San Francisco and the bay from this property! The host was super responsive to us with helpful information. The kitchen was well equipped to cook and enjoy our meals overlooking the bay below. The house has a story and we thoroughly enjoyed playing the games and listening to the expansive record collection!

The house was exceptional. Very spacious and comfortable. The owner had the kitchen fully equipped. Everything was first-class and abundant, for example some short-term rentals provide a “starting set” of toilet paper, there were 10 rolls of top-quality toilet paper in the guest bathroom alone. The views of both the valley and Mount Tamalpais were extraordinary. At times we could see San Francisco in the distance.The photos of the steep walkway on the website were exaggerated it was a piece a cake to get from the parking area to the house.Driving on the road up to the house is a tricky especially if you have a large vehicle.The house does not have any air-conditioning which wasn’t a big deal but would’ve been nice in the afternoon and for sleeping. Some of the windows worked and some of them didn’t.

Lovely stay. Lots of hiking trails, and very beautiful scenery and views from the house of the water to San Francisco! The kitchen is very well-appointed with even things I forgot to bring!

This is a beautiful property and a fabulous house. Proximity to downtown Mill Valley, 30 min drive to Stinson Beach and trails steps from the house. This was my second stay here and I can't wait to return.

Wonderful house that is 70 yrs old but has all the necessary updates. Spent a long weekend there and thoroughly enjoyed the house, location and views from on high.

Amazing place!

This wonderful property feel more like a sanctuary or a trip back in time. The outside is as beautiful as the interior is so lovingly kept in its original form except that the kitchen appliances are fully updated, which was so helpful.
