Fenced Yard, Trails out the back door, Minutes Walk to Downtown
We're Erik and Azu — we grew up nearby and came back after a decade on the East Coast because we wanted a place where you could hike a mountain and walk to dinner the same day. This is it. A private 2BR home with fenced yard, full kitchen, in-unit laundry, and climate control in every room. Tiger Mountain trails are a 5-minute walk. Downtown Issaquah is 10 minutes on foot. Seattle is 20 minutes by car. Nearly every review is five stars — we set this place up for real life, not just photos.
The house is a self-contained home with its own entrance, fenced yard, and on-street parking right out front. It's one half of a duplex — our home is on the other side of a shared wall, but there are no shared entrances, no shared hallways, no shared anything.
The living room has a sectional sofa, a lounge chair, a desk area, and a dining table. Large windows bring in morning light. The queen sleeper sofa means the place sleeps up to 6 — without anyone ending up on a thin air mattress in the hallway. The back bedroom has a queen bed. The front bedroom has two twin XL beds. Every room has its own thermostat — no fighting over the temperature.
The kitchen is full-size: dishwasher, oven, stove, fridge, microwave, coffee maker, kettle, toaster. We stock pantry staples and spices so you're not buying a whole bottle of olive oil for one meal. The bathroom has a bathtub, hair dryer, shampoo, body wash, spare toothbrushes, and menstrual products.
In-unit washer and dryer with detergent provided. Wi-Fi and TV included. The whole place is single-story — no stairs. Free on-street parking right out front.
The back yard has a 6-foot privacy fence, and the front yard is fenced as well. Bringing a dog? You picked the right place — we keep bowls, wipes, a lint roller, and a large crate here. Tiger Mountain trails are all dog-friendly (on leash), and there's a hose in the yard for post-hike mud. We have a dog too. We get it.
Traveling with kids? We have a high chair, folding crib, and plastic plates and cutlery ready to go.
We put together a detailed guest guide covering our favorite restaurants, trail recommendations by difficulty level, and answers to every question we've been asked twice.
The entire home, the yard, and the parking area are yours for the duration of your stay. Nothing is shared — you have your own entrance, your own outdoor space, and your own parking.
Self check-in with a keypad code. Arrive anytime after 4 PM.
The neighborhood: Issaquah sits right where the Seattle metro meets the Cascades. Most places near Seattle make you choose between city and mountains — here, both are walking distance. Tiger Mountain trailheads are a 5-minute walk from the back door. The Poo Poo Point trailhead (the hike up to the paragliding launch with panoramic views) is a 5-minute drive. Issaquah's Olde Town — coffee, restaurants, and local shops — is a 10-minute walk. The farmers market and Gemini Fish Market are a short drive. All Tiger Mountain trails are dog-friendly on leash.
Drive times: Seattle is 20 minutes on I-90 in off-peak traffic. Bellevue is 15. During rush hour, give yourself more time — that's I-90 life. But you're traveling against the main commuter flow if you're heading into Seattle on a weekend.
Rifle range: There is a sportsmen's club range in the area — it operates Wednesday through Sunday during daytime hours. You're unlikely to notice it indoors, but you may hear it in the yard. Our reviews are the best reference for what to expect.
PNW weather: It drizzles here October through May. Summer evenings stay light past 9 PM and are genuinely spectacular. On clear days, you can see Mount Rainier — locals say "the mountain is out."
Carbon-neutral operation: We offset the footprint of every stay.
Exterior cameras: We have security cameras at the front and back entrances only — no cameras or recording devices inside the home.

This was the perfect stay for me, located in a quiet and friendly community. Very kind and welcoming host. Inside you’ll find beautiful wood floors in this cozy home. The kitchen was stocked with everything I needed to cook dinners, and I enjoyed the water filter in the fridge. Great place to make coffee in the morning. Each room has its own temperature control which is nice. Extremely pet friendly with a fenced in front and rear yard. The local town was nice as well within very short distance to most anything you’d need. I would absolutely re-book this stay, highly recommend.
We needed to stay somewhere in the Seattle area that was quiet but had easy access to the freeway and shopping. This location worked perfect for us. Thank you for the great stay!
The rental is cute, and the living spaces are larger than they look in the pictures. It’s a convenient location to shops and restaurants. Owners were very responsive and friendly.
Last minute shopping trip to Seattle area. Hotels were all booked and very expensive. Found this little jewel and we're very pleased with everything. Hosts were very accommodating. We will definitely be back
The hosts have a fabulous place. Very clean and cozy. Plenty of room for our family. The board games were a bit for the kids. It's in a beautiful fairly quiet neighborhood that felt extremely safe. Cute hike near by. Not terribly far from Seattle either. Thank you for everything.
Everything was perfect for our group size (one mom, two kids). The owners are right next door, and diligent with communications, so we always knew what to do. Younger daughter *loved* the keyless front door, and we appreciated how modern things like the door code and the gate latches and the small cases of engineering around the house were so well done. The property is immaculate and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thank you!
Perfect for dogs and kids -- big fenced front yard. The girls loved it. You can hear the shooting range when outside, but not inside so keep that in mind if your dog is noise-phobic. Walking distance to downtown Issaquah and to the troll, Jakob Two Trees. Well stocked kitchen for cooking. Beds so comfortable! And a carbon neutral house! The owner is quickly responsive and very friendly. We'll be back!
The property was clean and comfortable. The owners clearly thought about your needs. The bed was very comfortable. I was unable to give a 5 star rating as I reached out to the Eric (the night before and day of ) asking if we could get early access, if not for us at least for our luggage and I never got a response. When Eric did reach out (after we were checked in) he didn’t even mention my request.

We're pleased to hear Karen found the property clean and comfortable, and that she appreciated the amenities we provide for our guests.
Regarding early check-in, Vrbo records show Karen sent a single message the morning of check-in. While I was unavailable to respond immediately, my wife noticed Karen's early arrival and let her in early, apologizing to her that I had not responded due to running a race at that time. Because my wife had already spoken to Karen and apologized, we did not bring it up again in later messages.
When we were in search of a place to stay, while having our floors refinished, this little gem popped up on our listings. I’m glad we picked this!
The host was very accommodating, both for our large dog and for our needs while on site.
The property was exceptionally clean, nice fenced yard and easy access to downtown Issaquah. Plenty of off street parking in a quiet walkable neighborhood.
The finishings leave a little to be desired, more IKEA than Ethan Allen, but at this price and in this location it couldn’t be beat. It has all of the kitchen, dining, and comfort amenities you could ask for and the owners are very pet friendly thinking of everything - food dishes, doggie doo drop off can, crate, etc. One of a kind for sure!
We wouldn’t hesitate to stay again and are already thinking about this as a future location for when family comes to town!
Everything was clean and organized at the house. The hosts responded to my messages with clarify and courtesy. The property was in a clean and safe neighborhood plus it was quiet at night. It was a half mile walk to the primary street of the town with restaurants and art galleries. It was also close to bus stops. There was a bus I could catch that would take me to downtown Seattle on less than four dollars one way. The area had Uber and Lyft services as well. Pets were allowed even though I did not have them. The kitchen had many appliances. There were a washer and dryer in site. There was furniture outside to sit and relax.
