Welcome to the Wild West 40. This cabin is 1 of 8 located on the Arizona Strip just 3 miles off the highway, yet away from it all. Majestic views of red and purple mountains. We are 100% off the grid with solar and a well. You’d never know it though as our cabins have everything from a stove top, microwave, fridge, hi sped internet, big screen TVs and video games. Feel free to make a camp fire in front or feed the animals out back. Grabs some fresh eggs 🍳 for breakfast!
We are a cattle family who homesteaded the Arizona Strip. Our place has horses, cats, dogs, chickens, roosters, goats and cattle. We are completely off the grid. Our water is off a well and our electricity is solar. The rooster crows in the morning. The water can sometimes have a unique odor but is clean and safe and we provide free water bottles. We don’t see them often but there are snakes (mostly blow snakes but rattle snakes are native, scorpions (non poisonous) coyotes and other critters from time to time . If you like petting and feeding the ranch animals please feel free to offer a hand. We are 5,000 feet in elevation and experience all seasons. We are 15 minutes away from the coral pink sand dunes.
We are not located in Fredonia, but 30 minutes north in a town called CaneBeds. We are 15 minutes away from Colorado City where there is a wonderful grocery store and a few restaurants. 30 minutes from Fredonia and Kanab UT. We are about and hour to an hour and 1/2 from Zions, Lake Powell, the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, and St George.

The view is spectacular, the animals are so friendly, and the place was perfect for our family to visit. We loved how close the Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park was, we went sandboarding and had the perfect time! It was also close enough to Zion for us and the drive was beautiful! We also appreciated the close by market.
Beautiful unit on the road less traveled, with the friendliest animals you’ve ever met right outside. The constellations appeared closer than anywhere ever seen. It was perfect in every way.
The place was cute and in a good location. The cabin was cute with a comfortable bed. The animals on the property are super friendly. The two downsides was the heating was able heat up the whole place and the hot water smelled really bad our whole visit. Over all okay.
My child became enamored with the farm animals and made me swear that we will return. Plus it was such a bonus to have the free, fresh eggs. The cabin was more than well equipped, there was even a toaster and blender. The beds were comfy. Overall great stay. If you book make sure to download or screen shot the address/directions, door code, and WiFi password before you arrive because you will have no cell service. I didn’t have a hard time finding the location and it was as described.
The property was very quaint and comfortable! The place looked just like it does in the pictures and was clean and stocked with all the necessities. It was a nice, central location (we were able to visit Zion, the Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon, Antelope Canyon, the Coral Pink Sand Dunes, and more) and we loved all the animals (especially the friendly cats). My only note for future guests is to look for the brown Wild West 40 sign when trying to first find the place and go down that street. We arrived at night with no cell service and the GPS took us down the road before the correct one, so we had a little trouble finding it at first. Arrive earlier if possible so it is easier! We also had the power go out a couple of times in the morning (idk if this is normal or not with solar?) but it quickly came back on and was no big deal. Overall, great stay!
The room was excellent.I love the decard that you had in the room. The view of the mountains was also stunning.Just had a little problem, figuring out the code to get in. I got three different codes from the emails you sent me.
