About this property

Cabin Rental on Ojibway Lake near Park Rapids - accommodates 7

Sure to be your new favorite getaway! Gorgeous renovated cabin on Lake Ojibway near Park Rapids. 400 feet of lake frontage on property with small beach and dock. Open floor plans, full kitchen and laundry, sleeps 7, with deck and patio. Internet available so that you can work remotely during the day and play at night! Bike and walking trails are aplenty in this area. And just a hop skip and a jump from downtown Park Rapids, Minnesota.

Located very close to Itasca State Park (home of the Mississippi Headwaters!), Paul Bunyan State Forest, Leech Lake, countless biking and hiking trails and endless miles of shoreline if you want to head out to some other nearby lakes. This is quite a beautiful area of the state ANY time of year. Get out and explore the area or stay in the comfort and coziness of the lake cabin playing games, cooking, looking out at/playing in the lake or stargazing on a dark night. Boat, fish, swim or hike in the summer or snowshoe, ski or snowmobile in the winter. So many possibilities for a memorable vacation!

Two kayaks and a paddleboat are available on the property for guests to use, free of charge. There is also a public access on the lake for people who bring their own boat. Keep in mind that lake levels may be low during drought seasons, so it may be difficult to get boats in and out of the water in these circumstances. Fortunately there are many more lakes in the area with public access that should be able to accommodate entry, depending on the severity of the drought.

Check out this review from a recent guest, one of the first to stay at the property since it was renovated in 2023:

"Thank you for allowing us to rent your beautiful lake home for our vacation to Park Rapids. It was a wonderful week and your home is stunning. We found our stay to be very comfortable, the beds and linens were great. We love to cook and the kitchen was very well stocked with everything we needed. Loved the new gas grill, what a treat! Our pontoon from Park Rapids Boat Rental was fantastic and we could tie up at the dock. We went fishing and tubing every day. The girls loved playing in the fresh sand at the beach. It was the perfect launching pad for our kayaks. We paddled through the channels and had great bonfires. The firewood you provided was dry and lit easily. We would absolutely rent this beautiful place again and we will encourage our friends and family members to do the same!"

Property was great for fishing for the kids. Even though fish were small the kids enjoyed it a lot. Easy entertainment for them. Nice and easy to get on side by side trails.

Another wonderful week on Ojibway

Had a great time again this past week. Cabin is perfect for all of us and has plenty of room. Spent a lot of time on the deck overlooking the lake. Extremely nice having your own beach and dock area to enjoy the water. Hopefully will be back next year!!!

We had a wonderful time on vacation, but we definitely had some issues. We chose this place because we love to hike and kayak, but neither were accessible on the property. We had to drive a ways to get to the trails, and the kayaks on the property were so dirty that we couldn't use them. The inside of the house was lovely, but the outside was very dirty. There were lots of bugs, and all outdoor furniture was covered in mud and cobwebs, so we couldn't use any of it. We also couldn't use the swimming area. The sand was full of large rocks, the water was slimy and gross, and the beach was full of animal poop. Mostly bird, but also dog. There were also very few kitchen amenities. Would have been nice to have oil, spray, flour, etc. There wasn't even any salt or pepper.Overall, we had a nice time, but we ended up driving 15-20 minutes one way several times a day to go swimming and hiking in Nevis and Park Rapids. The listing should be updated to reflect these issues. If you enjoy hiking, swimming, and kayaking, choose a different rental.

I’m sorry the property didn’t measure up to your standards. Everything is cleaned and organized before guests check in, and it’s the middle of the country/woods, so some bugs should be expected. The area has also had very little rain over the last year so the water level is low, and that has been updated in the property description (there will need to be a significant rain or snowfall up there to restore water levels to pre-drought levels). We have not had any dogs from recent renters so I’m not sure why there would be dog poop there. We also have never had a renter say there weren’t enough kitchen amenities but we’ll make sure to check them and stock everything accordingly. There are no trails on the property so if you want to hike I would suggest staying within or closer to a state park (like Itasca) or check out AllTrails for local hikes. Thanks for your feedback and we hope you’ll consider the area again.

Perfect lake home!

We had an amazing week on Lake Ojibway! This home is perfectly located on the lake with a dock and a beach. The yard is beautiful and so peaceful! The house is beautiful and had everything we needed for the week. It is an ideal Minnesota lake home!

Beautiful stay on a peaceful little lake

My family and I had a wonderful visit to Ojibwa Lake. The cabin was roomy and comfortable for all. The kitchen was well equipped and the beds and the furniture were comfy. The lake was very quiet, with nothing more than the hum of a pontoon outboard all week. I ran my fishing boat at trolling speeds all week so as not to shatter the quiet. And the bass fishing for 2 to 3 pound Largemouth was excellent, as was the panfish action. The public launch was completely workable for a good size boat with some reasonable caution. The only downsides we’d note are 1. There was no power at the dock so I had to put my boat on the trailer to recharge the batteries. (The upside is that is the size of the beautiful backyard that would make running a chord to the dock difficult) 2. There is so much beautiful deck space that would be amazing with a deck furniture upgrade. Neither of these things really impacted the fun we had at the cabin however. This is truly a peaceful gem of a place!
