Wow. Just wow! This property is spectacular in every way. Beautiful home with an even more beautiful view. Still close enough to town but far enough removed to have the perfect amount of isolation and quiet. Easily one of the best stocked properties I have ever been to. I've already bookmarked this property for future stays!

Spring Break 2025

This is the second time my family has stayed at this cabin, we love it! It has plenty of privacy and plenty of room. The cabin is located close to the town of Black Mountain as well as the Chimney Rock State Park. Definitely recommend staying here!

Mountain Getaway

My wife and I along with another couple rented the cabin for a weekend getaway. It was a short drive to Black Mountain where we spent the day at the Sourwood Festival. The cabin was great and as advertised. We were very happy with everything during the rental & check-in process. The cabin is extremely clean and very nice. You won't be disappointed.

Summer 2022

Really great cabin as very clean and views of sunsets were magnificent. Private and quiet which made our stay nice and peaceful. Dog friendly as well as bear gates on deck also created a closed area so that our pup could roam on the deck and be with us as we enjoyed the outside view.

Hubby and I wanted a getaway in the mountains. This home is a hidden gem!

So perfectly located! Absolutely gorgeous views, especially at sunset! Well stocked, comfortable bed (we only used the master) ! It was hot while we were there and the AC worked great!! Hubby liked the direct tv satellite with DVR…it even worked in the rain 🤣! Communication was outstanding with the management company. Will definitely stay here again!

Perfect get away

This was easy to get to. Close to Asheville and Lake Lure. The highway below the house can be a little busy but other than that it was a quiet place. The view is spectacular from the deck, patio and hot tub!! We brought our dogs and they loved it also. Close to many areas to hike. I would definitely come again. You can easily have 8 people comfortably with not falling all over each other !

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Very convenient to Chimney Rock and Lake Lure. Stunning view from back porch. Finished basement with second TV an unexpected bonus. Two nice bedrooms on main floor, one upstairs; many bathrooms. Only downside in summer is to get main floor comfortable it's a bit cold in basement and a bit warm upstairs. All told, tho, a beautiful, well-stocked house that we'll likely return to.

Perfect Black Mountain Getaway

This was a great place to stay. The kitchen was well equipped and the beds were comfortable. The covered back porch was a great place to hang out during the afternoon storms that typically pop up each day (and a perfect spot to see the sun set each day!). The grill worked well and there was even a spare propane tank (just in case). And, on top of that, the property was pet friendly, so our dog was able to be with us. The only improvement I can think of would be some ceiling fans on the back porch and better internet speed (the WiFi signal was great but the actual internet speed fluctuated a lot, but the service appeared to be satellite-based, so probably not much can be done about that). The check-in and check-out processes were super easy. We would recommend this property in a heartbeat and hope to return again.

The End of August at Blue Bear Cabin

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was our second stay at Blue Bear and it was just as enjoyable as the first stay. The cabin was clean, cozy, and quiet..a perfect combination to help us relax. The weather was perfect for the entire time we stayed. In the upper 50's at night, in the low 80's during the day. We spent the week looking for our retirement home site (successfully!) and had a marathon shopping day in Asheville and Black Mountain on Friday. It was tough leaving on Saturday, but we're planning another trip to Blue Bear in the spring.

Amazing cabin with a fantastic view!!!

Driving up to this cabin is unassumingly adorable from the outside. Once you open the door it’s like the beginning of the wizard of oz… the interior is breath-taking. The beauty of the all-knotty-pine interior… walls, floors & ceiling on every level is absolutely stunning!!! The decor is adorably accented with bears throughout. Enough sleeping room for a large family, with four bedrooms. The view is unsurpassed. The cabin had games we played together and good cable connection. The Wi-Fi was usable, if slow but we went there to unplug and get away from it all… so it was perfect!!!! Thank you to our hosts for sharing their lovely home with us for a few days.
