About this property

Early 1800's Bayfront Farmhouse

This charming historical farmhouse with gorgeous waterfront and side views is located at the end of a beautiful ocean bay in Addison Maine. Built by a sea captain in the early 1800's, it served as the village's first post office, a maternity ward for midwives and a vacation home for many guests maintaining the same energizing warmth and hospitality it offered many years ago. Relax on the large front porch with your morning cup of coffee or evening glass of wine and watch the birds and seals, sometimes otters, deer, mink and moose! Absorb positive energy from the large tides that constantly change the view for you. Walk or bicycle to Crowley Island, a natural bird preserve and don't forget your camera, the area beaches are just minutes away and connect to trails with breathtaking views. It offers a charming dining and living room, eat in kitchen complete , a cozy library full of books including a children's section, board games, puzzles (a Maine favorite) and over 100 DVDs for a relaxing movie night. Tourist pamphlets and local restaurant menus are kept on premises to help you plan your days and nights. You will be just minutes away from grocery stores, local fisheries, restaurants, gift shops (Blueberry Land) and beaches. Less than 90 minutes away from Acadia National State Park, 27 minutes to Rogues Bluff State Park, 15 minutes away from Beals Island, an hour and 30 minutes to Lubec and Canada. This is a perfect get away for rest and relaxation and a chance to experience the magical shores of Maine. Experience a real "Down East Maine" fishing town with enchanting and picturesque views of rocky coastlines, lobster boats and wildlife. It is the perfect place to kick back, create memories and forget about life for awhile.

Why they chose this property

This is a very inviting house full of positive energy. It is beautifully balanced, peaceful and safe. Cross the street to stone steps that lead to a picnic area and watch the changing tides, Maine wildlife and reversing falls. By the time the water reaches the Captains House the sun warms it up making it nice for swimming and kayaking. Historians say the salt water pond next to the house was a great swimming area for local children. Area beaches are beautiful, picturesque and great for finding little treasures. You will usually have them all to yourself.
semi-private and only minutes away!

What makes this property unique

Go back in time, escape the rest of the world and relax! A great getaway. The ocean gives positive energy and strength. The tides are large and fun to watch. The "reversing falls" are right across the street. Swim in the warmer salt water pond next to the house.
