Nestled on the side of mountain on perfectly maintained unpaved road with stone walls and evergreens surrounding - just a minutes walk away from the world famous Beaverkill Covered Bridge, birthplace of the American traditions of trout fishing - and a fabulous family swimming tradition. Picturesque Roscoe “Trout Town USA” only minutes drive away with terrific restaurants and the Catskill Fly Fishing Musuem. And nearby Monticello features the world class Katrite WaterPark - a big family favorite! Powerful way to connect with nature - grounds intended to attract pollinators including an active community of hummingbirds. Wild turkey, deer, frogs, fish and birds - all regular vistors to the property. Dedicated fly fisherman can make their way down the mountain to fish under the Beaverkill Bridge or from our family property. For five generations this property continues to be an important memory maker for all of us - and now we are pleased to share it with you! Neglected for a bit of time, we are hard at work restoring her inside and out - come every year and enjoy the transformation! Built in 1936 by architect Ed Whitehill, architect friend of famous American inventor Thomas Edison, the cabin was built in the Great Camp Adirondack style. Beautiful and creative architectural details abound, including stones from each one of Whitehill’s architectural projects embedded in the floor of the Rathskeller.
