The Fisherman's Cottage, located 35 minutes south of Savannah, Georgia in Historic Sunbury Georgia, offers comfortable and affordable accommodations directly on DEEP WATER that serves as the the gateway to the best kept secret on the East Coast – the unspoiled Georgia Barrier Islands. These protected islands and waterways offer pristine beaches and a reef ecosystem that attracts incredible fishing. Bring your boat, easily back it into the river at the public boat ramp within walking distance of the cottage and dock it at our own private deep water dock. We can also arrange for a charter boat for a day of inshore fishing or a leisure trip exploring the undisturbed beaches and wildlife of the barrier islands.

Drive, walk or take the boat to the nearby Sunbury Crab Company Restaurant for fresh local seafood and incredible views of the river from this open air restaurant.

The place is very clean, fully equipped, very comfortable, wonderful host, has a boat ramp which was a plus for us right on the water. Beautiful sunrise. Our only comment is to bring off or some bug repellent. The nats or no serums are horrible.

Its a great place to stay. We had bad weather but no one can predict the weather. There are other places to visit if it is bad weather. You can visit Savannah and there are a lot of historical places to visit also. We will go back!!

My husband & I really enjoyed our stay in Sunbury. The cottage was very peaceful with beautiful views. Our dogs loved the screened-in porch that allowed us all to enjoy the scenery.

We ENJOY most the water right outside the door almost. This was our 2nd year and invited my brother and his wife last minute. They enjoy fishing as much as Ken and I do. They made the comment that the cottage feels like a HOME not a rental.. GOD willing, Ken and I will return next year!Thank you so much!

Excellent little house on the river!

Although it was colder than usual , and we were not able to sit on the screened porch or dock, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Definitely recommend this place for some nice, quiet R$R.

Fisherman’s Paradise

The Fisherman’s Cottage did not disappoint. Great location, quaint cottage that was very relaxing. The morning sunrise views were incredible. The private dock was a nice feature. Can’t wait till we visit again. Our host was very helpful and made our experience easy.
