About this property
New to Market! Peaceful Green Mountain country retreat near Killington and Okemo
Located around 30 minutes from both Killington and Okemo, this beautiful sprawling house is for families who appreciate the flexibility to hang together or take their privacy (or work a little) in an idyllic quiet setting with magnificent views. Though large, this house is cozy, with three wood-burning fireplaces and lots of nooks and crannies for lounging. There are 23 acres of mostly lawn for snow-shoeing or cross-country skiing or just enjoying the fresh air. A large area with a fire pit takes advantage of the scenery.
In the house, two handsome kings with en suite full baths each have their own charms. The ground floor king has a soaking tub and walk-in shower. The upstairs king has a lovely balcony overlooking the back property and the Appalachian trail. Also upstairs are one benevolent queen and four gallant knights (the singles are two per room). The powder room is off the kitchen downstairs, adjoining a room that contains one of two sets of washer/dryers. The kitchen has its own lounge area and is well equipped. There are 6 gas burners and three electric ovens for the avid bakers. There are also two refrigerators.
In addition to its proximity to the Okemo and Killington ski slopes, the Appalachain trail is a cheerful 5 minute drive from the house. Shopping at the outlets in Manchester is 35 minutes away. There is antiquing galore and lots of other interest within an hour's drive, including Buttermilk Falls, Queechee Gorge, Woodstock VT (aptly described by a local as Who-Ville), and amazing lakes and water holes. Breweries abound.
Come and enjoy. You will want to come back again and again.

What makes this property unique
This house has really good vibes. The original portion was built in 1791 and, we recently learned, was a stop on the Underground Railroad. Maybe that's part of why one can feel goodness emanating from the floorboards. Whatever it is, the house is well loved and we know you will love it too.
