Perfect lake George house on the water .

We had everything we needed to enjoy a few days on lake George. Great private location. We felt very comfortable the entire time and would recommend it to anyone looking to bring their boat

The spectacular views from the back porch were amazing. We were in the area for a retirement party so we did not spend as much time at the house as we would have like to.

Location, Location, Location. Directly lakeside. Dock for boating. Outdoor space. All lovely. Furniture is a bit dated. A bit too many tchotchkes for a rental. Bedding was clean and beds were comfortable. Nice to have puppers join.

This is a great location the lake is beautiful . Water is clear and warm . We had a great family vacation . We were able to get in the boat and go. Alot of nice places about one hour into lake George downtown. Highly recommend house is equipped with dishes, some pans , silverware ect only thing it could be cleaned a little better .

Great place to stay

I enjoyed going out in the kayak. The evening was cold so we enjoyed sitting by the fireplace. It was a quiet and relaxing weekend getaway. I would stay again.

quiet lakeside

nice older cabin, typical of the era. owners were very friendly and communicative. the surrounding area is nice, we were there off season so it was quiet.

Nice location

Cabin was clean and cozy and in a quiet location. Make sure you build the fire as far back in the fireplace as possible or you will be smoked out.The kitchen needs a frying pan or two. Overall we were very comfortable.

Good stay

This property is in a beautiful location with lakefront view and its own dock, which we used. The house and its furnishings were rustic but we were comfortable. No AC but the nights were cool enough that it was comfortable to sleep. A few things need repairing like the back slider door handle.

Great camp

Great camp on Lake George. Location was amazing, especially for boating. Anita was easy to work with and very responsive to questions. No air conditioning. Had a few fans there, but if you go in summer bring a few fans for bedrooms. Once we signed into wifi we were able use our Verizon phones.

Nice spot right on Gull Bay

I had a super nice stay at this cottage on Gull Bay. The house is spacious and cheerful and the deck is great. The kitchen is fully equipped and the surroundings are lovely. The owners were very friendly and accommodating. Although the swimming isn't great right at the cottage -- the lake is weedy at that spot with a squishy bottom and not any easy entrance into the water -- it's only a one-minute walk over to the town beach which has nice water and a lovely view across the lake. I used the dock to launch my kayak from and that was great. And there is so much nearby hiking that is amazing.

Relaxing, Clean, and Peaceful

My wife and I wanted to get away for the weekend with our dog and this was a perfect spot. It’s about halfway up the eastern side of the lake so it’s within an hour drive of anything you want to see in the area. Ticonderoga is the closest town and we found a great natural food store as well as the bagel and coffee shop. The property is clean and comfortable with ample sleeping space for a bigger party. We slept great and the furniture in the living room was very comfortable as well for relaxing and watching TV. We didn’t venture into the water but there’s a great dock on the property with a ladder into and out of the lake and the water was clear. I would recommend this listing highly for any season really because I bet in the Fall or Winter it gets nice and cozy with the fireplace. Wonderful weekend!

Great location lake front

The owner was extremely nice and helpful. The house is a little dated and the furniture is definitely not the most comfortable as well as the beds, but it was a beautiful location. Lakefront which was absolutely beautiful. A nice beautiful back deck. And what can I say when you're at lake George You're just happy! There is no AC, But the breeze from the lake made it very comfortable at night. It is a little damp and musty inside the home, but that's mostly due to being right next to the lake. If you bring a boat, make sure that you not only have it inspected before you reach the property at one of the inspection stations along lake George, but you cannot get your boat in the water at the private boat launch that is included with this house until 11:00 a.m.. will not open until then. It was a little hard on us that first morning because we did not know any of this, so I hope whoever reads us that this helps.

NOT CLEAN, NOT SAFE, rental nightmare.

The location is great but that’s where it ends! We rented this cottage for our husbands as a Christmas gift, for a fishing weekend. The boat dock is rotten and falling in. The deck had 2 hornets' nests. The lawn was not mowed and had a big area of poison ivy, one bed had springs poking out and a big hole in the middle. We washed every dish before using it, went to Walmart and bought pillows because some were so disgusting. Mouse droppings, in the couch and God knows what else. Old wiring and extension cords running everywhere. I am new to using VBRO, had I know that I could contact them about this I would have. There is not cell service for Verizon so we could not call the host. We made it through, left it cleaner than we found it, can’t believe this has been inspected by the town for rental use! I have many pictures!

Disappointing Cottage on Lake George

The “cottage” was underwhelming at best. The photos posted with the listing are misleading. While it is lakefront, the area is more of a cove. The view is of other homes on the cove. There was a small beach for the community, and on the day we arrived - a Monday - there were probably 25 people in the water. No doubt weekends would be more crowded. I was expecting more of an open view of Lake George. That definitely is not the case. The cottage, which the owner describes as “vintage”, is very dated and not well maintained. Paint is chipping off certain areas inside, lighting is poor throughout, the handle for the sliding glass door to the deck was broken, and the place was dingy and not well cleaned.It is listed as four bedrooms, but three of those rooms are very small. Sadly, we arrived in the middle of a heat wave. The only room in the house that can accommodate an air conditioner is the living room area. The owner has provided a unit there. The rest of the cottage was unbearably hot. We had brought fans with us, but because of the placement of the outlets, we were unable to put them in any of the windows. We had also brought our own air conditioner, but again no outlets, except for the living room, could accommodate it.We ended up sleeping on the living room couches that night and left the next morning. The outdoor areas were not great either. There are chairs provided, but they are years old and covered in grime. Dog poop was in the yard.
